“The stay was very enjoyable and relaxing.”
The site is very clean and well maintained. It was our second stay in this lodge and everything was lovely. The only suggestion I have, would be to jet wash the outside and also fix the broken umbrella (it wasn't great the first stay, this time it now has burnt holes in it) Other than that I would highly recommend Stonerush lakes

“The lodge is what you would expect and is very quiet as its on the end of the row.”
The only issue would be the wire around the decked area as its not very dog or child friendly and has gone quiet slack since we last stayed there.- Mr Washington, June 2021
“This was our 2nd time a stonerush lakes.”
After the year we've all had Especially my other half that worked the whole way through with only 1week off it was definitely what the doctor ordered to enable us to charge. The lodge itself was well presented clean an stocked with all the normal stuff you need (in the kichen) for a self catering break. Hot tub was checked everyday. Staff are very polite an friendly. An the food at the old mill restaurant was fab.- Mrs Atkins-hewitt, June 2021
“We have been to stonerush lakes many times and love coming back.”
We love the hedgerow lodges.- Mrs King, April 2021

“We've been several times now and stayed in various lodges.”
This was our second stay in Hedgerows 7 so we knew exactly what to expect. We love Stonerush because we feel we really get that peace and tranquility when we stay. The hot tub is the perfect addition to the lodges. We always have 1 meal in the restaurant and the food has always be absolutely wonderful! My only two comments are that the drain was blocked in the en suite shower (my fault, I totally forgot to report it coz we were enjoying our stay so much!) And the cheesecake in the restaurant felt like it was a little old so we didn't eat it (again our fault, we took it back to the lodge so weren't able to mention it while in the restaurant). We felt very Covid safe also. The stickers on the front door and key box is a great addition to confirm to us all was clean and ready for us. We will definitely be back again in the not too distant future!- Miss Thompson, October 2020
“The lodge is a great size and very well kept.”
You have everything you need and more to have a great holiday. The WiFi was fantastic and so quick allowed me to work from the lodge when I needed to. The on site restaurant is amazing the food was so tasty. The staff were a bit hit and miss not the most welcoming and didn't seem as attentive as they could be. There was only 2 tables in at one point and it took us to get the attention of the staff to ask for more drinks, now being table service due to Covid. The information book stated about takeaway and the fact staff would bring the food to the lodge when we enquired about this, we were laughed at and they said no. The takeaways listed might need updating the Chinese said it would be a 2.5 hour delivery time plus £11 delivery charge.- Mr Macklin, October 2020
“Fault with a blind in the bathroom on arrival but this was replaced within an hour thankyou, the mill restaurant served top food and would highly recommend the sunday roast .”
Thankyou all for a lovely week.- Mrs Watkins, October 2020
“Had a fantastic stay at stonerush lakes would highly recommend, only things missing were a clothes airer and the tin opener was from the ark it was useless.”
I wouldn’t recommend Sykes however as they cancelled our previous holiday with our children and grandchildren three hours before we were due to collect the key. We were told there was a leak in the property having driven four hours only to have to tell two crying children they couldn’t have their holiday! Worse than that we found we had been holiday gazumped the unit had been re-let for a higher price. Wouldn’t use Sykes ever again.- Mrs Mills, September 2020

It would be brilliant if there was a closer pool because we had to do a LOT of driving It was very enjoyable tho thank you- Mrs Deans, August 2020
“The local is beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing.”
We couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay.- Mrs Cutter, March 2020
“Super clean lodge.”
Soooo warm and cosy! Bed was super comfy! No phone signal but the WiFi in the lodge fixed that (turn on WiFi calling and you can make/receive calls) The only thing we would change would be the sofas there very low down which is fine for us but if you were elderly/disabled you will struggle to stand up from them. Hot tub was amazing after a busy day. Loads of gorgeous places to visit nearby.- Miss Briers, March 2020
“We have no dispute with Sykes cottages.”
You offer a really good service and I would strongly recommend and have used you before as we have 2 small dogs. My complaint is about the overall standard of the accommodation we booked. On arriving it looked beautiful and we were really pleased with our choice. We knew the area well as we lived in the village of Lanreath for several years and our daughter lives there now. The oven was filthy, roasting tins dirty, freezer had pieces of fruit frozen into the ice. Teapot was dirty and cups put away unwashed. Bed linen was of good quality but stained and 2 dirty bath towels left in the wardrobe. All lamps were very dusty and blinds needed a good clean. I always take throws with me to cover sofas and I'm so glad I did as both sofas had severe staining on them and we didn't fancy sitting on them. The hot tub was great but before we could use it all the decking area had to be swept and washed down. I know you do get leaves dropping but these weren't freshly shed they had been there some time. A couple of days towards the end of our holiday we had a job to keep warm. The radiators were barely warm. My husband suffers from severe C.O.P.D. and needs a constant room temperature. On the day of our departure we got up to no heating and no hot water. We knew before hand that there was no phone signal but advertised was a TV which we thought would be watchable but NO it was appalling. Since being home we have read reviews on the various chalets at Stone Rush Lakes and they are all similar to the experience we've had. Surely this needs looking into. One very disappointing holiday. Mrs S Stone Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands- Mrs Stone, November 2019

We had a great time here so cosy and comfortable everything that you need for a great stay, we were so close to Looe and not to far to Fowey and Port Issac and there are some lovely beaches, we would def return- Mrs Parker, October 2019
“Beautiful lodge, beautiful location definitely coming back”- Mrs Dillon, October 2019
“This was the fifth time visiting this site and third time in this property unfortunately this time it didn't live up to its usual expectations.”
On arrival we found dogs hairs everywhere including on the plates and bowls, bed linen and plastic bags left on the beds and no towel robes for the hot tub (which were delivered the next morning after complaining at the mill) it looked like a rush job had been made on the cleaning and setting up. Later that evening when we went to use the hot tub we found the light outside broken and the ensuite shower plug was blocked leaving us with only one shower all week. Some of the cooking utensils were broken and there were only 4 odd glasses left in a cupboard full of wine glasses! We coped with the issues but it really wasn't up to the standards of previous years which we enjoy and come back to for. We felt the cabin needed some time and effort spent on it. Luckily the weather was good so we made the most if it and enjoyed our week of adventures.- Miss McLennan, August 2019
“Fantastic peaceful location.”
Property was exactly as listed and spotlessly clean.- Mr Poole, July 2019
“The location of the lodge in general (to Looe & Polperro.”
) The site was very clean & well kept & the privacy of the lodges were exceptional. Slightly disappointed with the restaurant as it was closed for one night due to some circumstance & under staffed, but I wouldn't say this was an issue for us or would prevent us from returning- Mrs Wright, July 2019
“The cabin was everything + more!”
I don't really leave reviews but this time I will. The Cabin was beautiful and the hot-tub set in the ground made it easy for us to get in and out, It's around 15 minutes away from Looe which is a lovely little town! Inside was clean and very modern. Theres board games, Freeview & DVDs too! There's no phone reception but there is Wi-Fi (10mps download + 12mps upload), but it was nice to not have a signal and have a break. Parking is *very steep* but you can park sideways on the drive way. The only bad thing I would say is the take-away food on site was a big disappointment £60 was a bit expensive for what we had and it's wasn't great but non the less the staff seemed very nice, but it doesn't really make a difference as such as there's a spar / premier shop 10 mins away and an Asda superstore roughly 30 minutes away. 5/5 so much so we're looking at returning again next year!- Mr Forster, May 2019
“Excellent accommodation, lodge was really clean and finished to a high specification.”
Nice little touches like smellies and coffee provided. Perfect for our weekend away with friends. My only comment for improvement is in relation to the directions to getting there - a map needs to be provided. The post code for the property doesn't work and whilst we were provided with written directions we still (and others in the group) managed to get lost. Arriving in the dark a map showing where the correct turn off is would have been really useful.- Miss Gregory, May 2019
“The whole log cabin experience was as expected with an added bonus of the private hot tub connecting to the cabin.”
....brilliant!! Slight issue getting to the property with change of postcode and not registering to the sat nav but eventually with a little hand of Google on the phone we found the site- Richardson, March 2019

About the location
Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.
Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
