Browse the boutiques and art galleries including The Tate and seek refreshment in one of the many waterside eateries and coffee houses lining the harbour. Maritime Falmouth and rugged Land's End are famed destinations.
From Pengwithor's doorstep, enjoy a ramble to the top of craggy Carn Brea Hill with spectacular ocean views across the bay. With an elegant interior mixing traditional and modern (built for the local miller in 1892) this attractive granite cottage has all the home comforts, adjacent to the owner's home. The sitting room has a real-flame gas fire for extra cosiness during cooler breaks and a separate dining room for gatherings and board games. The shaker style kitchen has all the appliances to store, prep and cook (choice of supermarkets are nearby - or sample the local pub fayre.) The bedrooms are pretty with stripped pine floors and louvered shutters and all front rooms enjoy Carn Brea's glorious vista. The garden is an enclosed sunspot for nibbles and tipples with lawn for children and pets to play.

Redruth is a small town in Cornwall, dating in parts from the 12th century. It was once the centre of Cornish mining history and is now at the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is a selection of shops, pubs and eateries, and the town holds a variety of continental markets throughout the year. Attractions close to Redruth include the Carn Brea Trail, The Great Flat Load, which is fantastic for cyclist and dog walkers alike, Tolgus Tin Stream Works, and the Tehidy Country Park. The beach at Portreath is a 10 minute drive, or 2.5 miles from Redruth. The entire stunning North coast is a suburb playground for surfing and all watersports, with resorts such as St Ives, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula and the whole Lizard Peninsula within easy reach.
