The property

Lily Pad cottage is a charming, detached property located next to the owner's home in the small, Cornish hamlet of Higher Brea.

It has been thoughtfully designed to provide quality accommodation in a beautiful part of the country, so you can explore a wide variety of attractions, then return to relax with your loved one.

With ever-changing countryside views and a delightful open-plan living room offering an electric, woodburner-effect fire to keep you cosy and warm during the winter months, how can you resist a stay at this humble abode?

Rustle up a tasty meal in the well-equipped kitchen, and dine over an aged bottle of wine before unwinding on the sofa in front of the TV.

Later, retire to the double bedroom and make the most of the en-suite shower room waking you up each morning.

Once you have enjoyed the charm of the interior, step out onto the sunny, enclosed patio accessed from the French doors in the living room, and enjoy a refreshing beverage as you make plans for the day ahead.

You also have a handy lockable bike/surfboard store for you to use, with the owners also offering the use of a washing machine and tumble drier upon request.

Find a plethora of things to see and do in the local area, the Carn Brea monument is worth a climb, while the castle at Carn Brea offers a restaurant in the evenings with glorious views.

Spend a day with your toes in the sand at Portreath Beach and watch the surfers take on the waves, or pay a visit to the World Heritage Site Heartlands.

You have a network of walking and cycling trails to explore, such as The Great Flat Lode and you can get on the trail of Cornwall's mining history to discover the Mineral Tramway Trails, with over 37 miles of mostly level and traffic-free pathways.

This coastal escape offers just the holiday you need in a fabulous region of Cornwall.

About the location

CAMBORNE

Portreath 4.4 miles; Hayle 6.8 miles.

Camborne lies in the heart of a former mining community and was well known for its “Queen of Cornish Mines" - the Dolcoath copper and tin mine, the deepest in Cornwall. Today, Camborne is home to Heartlands, a community space covering 19 acres and scattered with remnants of the mining industry, providing a free space for visitors to explore the heritage of Cornwall, browse art and craft projects, stroll through the gardens and sit and share a picnic or enjoy lunch at the Red River Café. From Camborne centre you can follow an interesting town trail, or spend the afternoon in the museum before visiting the array of shops and pubs. A ten-minute drive from Camborne brings you to a wealth of sandy Cornish beaches including Portreath, Gwithian and Porthtowan. Camborne is ideal for exploring Land’s End, the Lizard Peninsula, Truro and the Eden Project, which are all less than an hour’s drive away, ideal for a day trip.
