“This was a great property for our group of 2 families.”

There was ample parking, cottage is in a great location to get to st Ives, Padstow, Porthcurno, Falmouth and everywhere in between. We also like the fact it is close to a great beach (5 min away) The property sits on 3 floors and worked perfectly for both families. All the amenities were available (washing machine, coffee machine, ironing board etc) The rooms are well decorated and there is lots of light. It felt homely and cosy. There are 2 bathrooms and we were provided with bathroom products (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner) There is a nice courtyard to dine outside and a washing line to hang wet clothes. The owners were very accommodating , they provided us with some great local restaurant recommendations. I would definitely stay at this cottage again and it made our trip to Cornwall very enjoyable.

About the location

Truro 14 miles; St Ives 15 miles.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
