“Wow! What can we say!”

...

This fantastic holiday home exceeded expectations from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We’ve stayed in a lot of holiday cottages in Cornwall & they have all been lovely but this is by far the best. No problems with parking, excellent communication from Jenna, comfy beds & lots of lovely added extras - the cake & welcome pack, including the milk was most welcome. The cottage has the best & most well equipped kitchen, especially as we cooked & ate in each evening with our small children. The whole cottage is decorated beautifully, is clean & very homely. Would highly recommend

“One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in.”

Plenty of room and very well equipped kitchen. We were there at the beginning of October so needed some heat in the evenings. We did not use the log fire although everything was there, logs, firelighters etc but the central heating kept us warm when needed. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated especially the milk, coffee and cake which was delicious. If you like walking there are plenty of places to go including the mile walk into Portreath along a safe path away from the road. Also coast paths in both directions and Tehidy Woods. We have already booked for next year !

“Lovely cottage in a great location, nicely central to visit a lot of different areas within cornwall.”

Everything was immaculately clean on arrival which is appreciated in the current situation. Property is new and we were warned of issues with Wifi prior to our stay however we had no real issues and signal was strong enough to stream 2 films at once. Slight issue with number of cutlery and wine glasses was rectified within about 30 mins of reporting it. We found the owner (Jenna) very friendly and helpful if we needed anything. Overall would very much recommend.

“Beautiful cottage, by far the best we have stayed in.”

It had all the home comforts, unquietly decorated which made it very special. The cottage was superb, very clean and comfortable and the welcome we received after our long car journey was a lovely treat. Everything we needed was available or made available to us and it was located very near to local shops or beaches for ease of access. Great location, so peaceful and quiet, I had the best sleeps ever! Its a lovely place to stay if you want to relax into Cornish life or use as a base to travel to near by St Ives or Truro like we did. It really was a wonderful cottage and we were so impressed we can't wait to book again for 2021! Thank you for the lovely welcome and care shown to our family and friends. We shall see you next year.

The cottage is really comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The walk into Portreath is no more than 20 mins although you are still hidden away in the countryside! Would certainly recommend

River Barns

A collection of five barn conversions in the hamlet of Bridge, near Redruth in Cornwall. As their names suggest, they are situated by a small river and are approximately one and a half miles from the sea at Portreath on Cornwall's north coast. These well-thought out properties have some lovely, quirky features, with a Cornish-themed décor, feature walls and wrapped doors, as well as charming Cornish-themed print on the staircase, which you can admire as you head up to the first floor of each property. Each property has a contemporary style, providing comfortable, quality accommodation for a group looking to escape to a peaceful hamlet, close to the north Cornwall coast and its array of sandy beaches. The hamlet of Bridge has a tea room and a restaurant, while the town of Redruth is three miles away, with a wider selection of eateries and amenities, as well as Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill, Moseley Heritage Museum, Kresen Kernow museum and Heartlands World Heritage Site. Portreath and the coast are just over a mile away, with its sandy beach, cafés, bakeries and Monkey hut attraction, while further up the coast, you will pass the RAF Portreath military base, as you head towards St Agnes Heritage Coast, with ample scenic walking trails and the glorious beaches of Chapel Porth and Perranporth. These barn conversions offer a peaceful getaway close to the coast that you'll want to return to year after year.

The property

River Barns 3 is a family-friendly property; one of five barn conversions located in Bridge, near Portreath, it comfortably accommodates a family or small group of up to five guests looking for a peaceful retreat by the north Cornwall coast.

This property comprises a fully-fitted kitchen and dining room, with a spacious dining table with seating for the whole group to enjoy meals together, with a separate sitting room, complete with TV and a woodburning stove, giving the room a lovely cosy feel.

Upstairs are three bedrooms; two doubles, one with zip/link feature that can be made into twins on request, plus a single bedroom, all of which are spacious, have storage space and TVs, serviced by the family bathroom, which offers a choice of bath and walk-in shower to prepare you for each day.

Outside, you will find off-road parking for two cars and two enclosed patio areas with picnic benches at the front of the property, while a shared lawn with play area is ideal for children.

The hamlet of Bridge has a restaurant that is within walking distance, while Redruth offers a wider selection of shops and eateries.

The north Cornwall coast is one and a half miles away at Portreath, which is also the home of an RAF base, while further up the coast, you will find St Agnes and the heritage coast, along with lovely sandy beaches such as Chapel Porth and Perranporth.

A fabulous coastal retreat the whole family will love.

PORTREATH

Truro 14 miles; St Ives 15 miles.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
