“We have just stayed in Apple Loft which we really enjoyed.”

The property is a period conversion, with lots of old world charm. It has all you would expect from a modern property but it's clearly a building with lots of history, with exposed wooden beams in most rooms. The lounge kitchen dinner has 2 two seater comfy leather sofas, smart TV with dvd player and a log burner which the owner kindly provides logs and kindling for, the kitchen has a electric cooker, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher. There's a laundry bar with shared use of a washing machine ...

The lounge kitchen dinner has 2 two seater comfy leather sofas, smart TV with dvd player and a log burner which the owner kindly provides logs and kindling for, the kitchen has a electric cooker, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher. There's a laundry bar with shared use of a washing machine and dryer. The double master bedroom is accessed via a steep wooden staircase which before arrival we thought might be an issue but it wasn't at all. The bedroom is huge and very light and airy with 2 velux roof lights windows, a regular window overlooking the farm and a door the the back garden area. The twin room is accessed via stairway with approximately 5 steps the room has two single beds and a window overlooking the farm. The wooden beams in this room are quite low making this room better suited for children. The bathroom has a lovely freestanding bath and a shower cubicle, washing hand basin and WC. It also has a heated towel rail and fan heater. There is also a large entrance cloak area to store shoes and coats. Parking a right outside of the property. Thanks to Vicki and Chris for a lovely stay, all of the little extras supplied are really useful and much appreciated. Thanks for the scones, jam and clotted cream they were delicious, even having milk, tea, coffee and sugar on arrival was really thoughtful and very handy after a long journey. We really hope to stay again in the future. Best wishes for Lambing season. Mark, Sandra, Bruno and Angela X

The small village of Lerryn is just three miles away with a family friendly pub and store.

Within a short drive are the delights of Fowey, fabulous with harbour, restaurants, traditional inns and art galleries.

Hop aboard the passenger ferry across the azure waters to Polruan.

The iconic fishing village of Polperro is a must visit destination with eateries and pubs huddled around the quayside and the fishing port of Looe with stretch of sandy beach can be reached by an amble around the scenic coastal footpath.

Lostwithiel, the ancient capital of Cornwall is six miles westwards and the market town of Liskeard is eight miles to the east.

With excellent golf courses, stately homes, castles, steam railways, sub-tropical gardens and rugged moorland - there is an attraction for all ages.

About the location

LOSTWITHIEL

Bodmin 5.5 miles; Fowey 7 miles.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area. The friendly locals also have ongoing activities, such as the raft race, the famous tug of war, Carnival week and seagull outboard motor races. The river Fowey runs from the town on its 8 mile journey through the fields and wooded valleys to the gentler southern coast, a natural paradise for those who love the sea. Centrally placed, with much to do and see in the immediate area, Lostwithiel is the perfect choice for those seeking a break away from the hectic pace of the tourist resorts.
