The surroundings enjoy the characterful town of Camborne, once the richest mining town in the world and birthplace of Richard Trevithick, who invented the steam locomotive engine; you can learn more about the town's fascinating background by spending the day at the free heritage site: Heartlands. The town is also home to a range of excellent trails, perfect for walkers and cyclists alike, with Carn Brea, great Flat Lode and Tehidy Country Park (and golf course) nearby. About the location
