“Great stay at the Sea Shimmer!”

    ! ...

! Fabulous views over the sea, lovely little flat, nice big kitchen with great facilities (only one thing we could have be doing with was a pair of scissors lol) It had salt, pepper, sugar etc, also the owners & had left milk & cookies, thought it was a nice touch & flowers in the Livingroom. Only has a shower, we would have liked to be able to have a bath, but very clean. Livingroom a lovely size & had everything you need. Bedroom was lovely, a bit small, but hey what do you need? Would have liked a bigger bed, especially in the heat, as it WAS hot, hot, hot, or maybe a fan or air con to be included? Nice wee enclosed garden to have coffee or a drink, sun came round here later in the day. Drive up from the road is quite tight. Walk from Newlyn to Penzance along the beach was great only took around 20 mins, got a bus in Penzance to Lands end £8.00pp return journey, but the stop was just up the hill from this flat. Got a train to St. Ives from Penzance, change at St Erth's, £4.00 return journey, takes you right to the beach, lots of lovely shops & loads of eateries, saw around four seals swimming about & close to the public swimming in sea :) watch out for the very cheeky seagulls, a woman's ice cream cone was totally nabbed out her hand (it was funny, but I'm sure if it was a child they would have gotten a fright). Thank you to the owner's as it really is a lovely flat.

About the location

Penzance 1 mile.

Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint village in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish village is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the village, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
