“Myself and my wife stayed in Pol Glas Cabin in July for our wedding anniversary for 6 nights after finding the property through Sykes.”

Finding the complex and the cabin itself was stress free and parking was no issue as everything was marked up accordingly (although some other guests at the other properties on the complex were driving straight down to their property (even of an evening). The view from the garden is beautiful of the surrounding fields and we were lucky enough that the property next to us was vacant for almost the whole stay so didn't have the worry of privacy and being overlooked by the neighbouring property ...

Finding the complex and the cabin itself was stress free and parking was no issue as everything was marked up accordingly (although some other guests at the other properties on the complex were driving straight down to their property (even of an evening). The view from the garden is beautiful of the surrounding fields and we were lucky enough that the property next to us was vacant for almost the whole stay so didn't have the worry of privacy and being overlooked by the neighbouring property which was mentioned in other reviews. A few issues we encountered during our stay which we contacted Sykes about (they contacted us about it today, 3 days after we'd checked out). - Cleanliness was an issue. There were a lot of dead flies behind the sheer curtain in the kitchen/living room. My wife walked straight into an impressive amount of cobwebs between the coffee table and the wall. - The microwave is rusty by where the glass plate is sitting. - The plates/glasses/cutlery were dirty and the inventory didn't match what was actually in the cupboards (not sure if this is where guests haven't updated owners of loss/damage over time?) - Theres a crack in the bathroom tiling where ants were coming through (this was a nightmare earlier in the week where flying ants were getting in). We have a photo of where the crack/gap is if this is helpful. - the wires were slightly exposed on the shower head but this wasn't affecting the use of the shower itself. There was a broken clip on the hot tub as well as one of the kitchen cupboards hinges were broken (again not affecting the use but I'm unsure if the owner is aware so we notified Sykes). Honestly it's a beautiful place, great views but we were a bit gutted that the price we paid didn't reflect the experience we had, especially given we notified Sykes as soon as we noticed things such as the damage. If the owner would like any photos or videos we are more than happy to share these, as they may be unaware of these issues. We'd love to give this a higher rating as the views and location were 5+ but the cleanliness, facilities and communication with Sykes really let it down for us sadly. Thanks, Tom & Cat x

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your stay at Pol Glas Cabin, the owners very much appreciate you bringing these issues to their attention. We take all comments seriously and have taken necessary action. The inventory is checked once a month, however every so often there are missing items that previous guests have not reported. The housekeeper will check the crockery and cutlery etc to ensure their cleanliness for future guests, but unfortunately it is the responsibility of departing guests to wash and leave items how they would wish to find them. The owners are aware of the small rust spot in the microwave, however this does not affect the cleanliness or function of the rotating plate. The kitchen cupboard hinge has now been clipped on with no issue. The hot tub has eight clips to hold the lid firmly down in case of high winds. Seven are secure and the eighth had a screw missing which has now been fixed. It seems the external casing surrounding the shower hose had split where it enters the shower head, but no wires are showing. There is no impact to the performance of the shower, however a new hose has been ordered. Unfortunately spiders, flies and ants are always active in a rural farm settings. The housekeepers are very vigilant with cobwebs and spiders, but cannot always keep up with them as they appear on a daily basis with windows and doors being open. Unfortunately it is the time of year for flying ants, however we will endeavour to seal the crack to avoid future issues. We would like to apologise for any issues you had in contacting Sykes, there were phone line issues during your stay, which have now been rectified. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the fantastic location and beautiful views from the cabin. I hope this response is helpful and we can welcome you both back soon. Property Owner
