    Good location in the centre of the village, handy for local shop/post office and with 2 pubs on the doorstep serving good food. Beach (which is one of the best in Cornwall) is only a short walk and with coastal walks either way. Polly Joke and Holywell Bay also have excellent beaches. This is the best Crantock property that we have stayed in since they demolished our beloved Perch Close in 2015 (which was just above the beach car park). This is the best Crantock property that we have stayed in since they demolished our beloved Perch Close in 2015 (which was just above the beach car park). We have a Red and White Setter, Paddy, who simply adores his beach runs even though he is 11 now. I would have rated this property 10/10 if it had not been for the fact that this property was listed as having a fridge/freezer. This was very important to us as we are avid self caterers and we had booked the property for a fortnight. The reality was that it was an under counter type fridge with an internal freezer that could only have been 4 inches deep max. Needless to say we had brought quite an amount of food with us including a quantity of meat from my home butcher. Obviously this was a big problem for us. I have now made Sykes aware of the situation so that no-one else will be disappointed. Otherwise as I said, 10/10

    We say: Pleased you loved Lavender Barn and had a great stay, and are sorry that the fridge/freezer was not as large as you expected. In our defence, the property is only for two people and there is not a large fridge freezer in any of the photographs or mentioned in the description. We note your comments but are sorry that you did not ask either the Sykes office when you booked or indeed the Property Manager, Pauline, for clarification as you had brought so much food to refrigerate when you arrived. There is no room to put a larger fridge freezer in the property but we hope this will not put you off coming back again. Owner relations

Lavender Barn is a superb, romantic retreat located within the village of Crantock.

Continuing to impress is the luxury bathroom, where you can take a relaxing bath during the evenings or a refreshing shower before a day’s adventure.

Open up the doors to discover a well-kept garden, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or simply letting the dogs stretch their legs.

The central location will appeal to those, looking to be within easy reach of all facilities, with both shop and pub situated within a 5-minute walk.

For beach lovers, you will find Crantock’s sandy beach situated just 5-minutes away and the larger town of Newquay also plays host to a superb beach and scenic coastal paths.

While in the town, you will also find a good selection of restaurants, pubs and shops to suit all requirements and tastes.

Newquay 4.5 miles.

Crantock is a small Cornish village, just a short walk from the beach, close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the North to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.
