  • “We were surprised to find the cottage situated in a holiday cottage complex sandwiched between other identical cottages.”

The description does not pay any reference to its location on this cul-de-sac of other holiday rentals . The photos of the cottage on website are extremely clever in giving the appearance of a much larger cottage. The kitchen was tiny with far too many additional things that were unnecessary ..fancy coffee machine with literally 2 coffee pods only, oyster shucker and mussel steamer, large fruit stand for bunch of bananas etc. The microwave was in a low cupboard and had to be lifted out each time to use it ..very awkward and I imagine very difficult for less agile people. The bathroom was very dark and could benefit from a good dust. The mirror was covered in a layer of dust around the ornate gilded edges and I assume was intended to add to the 'deluxe feel' ...It made me want to clean it along with plastic plants that were also covered in a layer of dust. The shower yes was large enough for 2 unfortunately the 'Rain Shower ' was woefully weak and had very little power..Barely enough water for 1 never mind 2 ! Finally stated on the bottom of the webpage is Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150. BEWARE of this. Ours was deducted even before we arrived home, with no consultation and no communication from the owner. It was stated that we damaged a radiator which was totally untrue. We had taken out insurance so are currently claiming for this however it has left a really bitter after taste and we will neither be recommending this property to anyone or be returning
