Dominic Bruce “Great property and location - perfect for us to just get out and walk/explore.”
it was brilliant to be able to walk out the door and on to the beach or up a few steps to the pub to watch the sunset. Property was clean and neat and no skimping on cleaning products and also a cupboard full of wetsuits, wetsuit shoes etc. for use along with body boards etc.

Leslie “We simply cannot fault any aspect of our stay at Rock House.”
It has everything you need for a quiet, relaxing coastal stay. The owners have thought of everything. All we can say is thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your lovely property - we would 100% recommend Rock House.

Mark “Lovely, quirky house, great location, so handy for the beach and the surf shop opposite.”
We're regular visitors to Trebarwith and would definitely like to stay in this house again.

Freya “This is the third or fourth time we’ve stayed here and it’s just perfect for us in the off season!”
Really comfortable little house, near to the beach and close to tintagel! Very characterful and utterly delightful place to relax for the week!
- Freya, March 2025Thank you so much Freya, it’s wonderful to hear you’re a regular - please do let us know if you have any suggestions to improve your stats . Many thanks Property Owner

Vanessa “Lovely few nights spent at Rock house with the dog and friends.”
Beds were really comfortable. Welcome basket was a pleasant surprise as no shops close by. Pub was cosy and the staff were very friendly. We did not eat there so cannot comment on the food.
- Vanessa, March 2025I’m so glad you enjoyed your time there! If you visit again- do eat at the local Pub , as they have some great dishes as well as the views. Property Owner

Elizabeth “We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Rock House.”
The location is great and we loved the layout of the house - it was perfect for the 3 of us plus dog. We really appreciated all the kitchenware and other items that have been provided by the owners - we had everything we needed and more! The house was warm and well looked after. There was an area of damp in the bedroom that we needed to clean but had been made aware of this by the owners and dehumidifiers have been provided to help with this. Rock House is now at the top of our list of favourite holiday lets and we hope to be back soon!
- Elizabeth, February 2025 -
Paula “We had a wonderful stay at Rock House.”
We know the Strand very well but a change of circumstances left us needing to find a new place to stay. Rock House was perfect for us. We shall return!
- Paula, November 2024Hi, Thanks so much for your kind feedback. I’m down there myself later this week - we are doing some Maintenance and sprucing up. I’m so glad you appreciated it as much as we do ! Such a great location isn’t it? All my best Jonny Property Owner

Kathryn “Fabulous cottage!”
Loved our stay here. Very well equipped, clean, cosy. Loved the log burner in the evenings. Great being by the beach, lovely cafe across the road and pub up the hill. We will definitely be back - this was our second stay.
- Kathryn, October 2024We’re so glad you enjoyed. I try to make it feel as welcoming as I would want it when I arrive . Also love the pub and log burner ! Feel free To leave a note if you decide to stay again if there’s anything, however small in which we could improve your break. Property Owner

Edwina “Rock House is a lovely quirky cottage.”
Cosy, but somehow spacious, really well appointed with everything we needed and more. In a really interesting location. We had a fabulous visit.
- Edwina, October 2024It is indeed quirky - it used to be the reception and entrance - when the whole row was a hotel- hence the wide staircase . We love it’s so near the sea too. Property Owner

Helen “A truly wonderful cottage, the level of comfort was amazing beautiful bedding towels and pillows.”
A kitchen that had everything anyone needed. The little extras like body boards and wet suits were great. The welcome package was a lovely touch. We had the most relaxing wonderful week. If we could offer a tiny bit of advise securing the front patio with a gate and maybe mirroring the neighbours wooden fencing to ensure our 4 legged family members are safe. Thank you and we will be back.
- Helen, July 2024Hi Helen, Sorry about the late response , I’ve been away. Thanks for your lovely words. Yes- we’re actually looking into the front area so our furry friends can relax ( or we can) . I like nice aesthetics so searching for a salty air resistant material. Yes , we need to relax there, as opposed to be on canine patrol! Property Owner

Nicola “Fabulous property in a great location.”
Really enjoyed our week away. Many thanks
- Nicola, June 2024Nicola, That’s so lovely to hear . I must say - we definitely exhale there and relax, no matter the weather . Do always let us know though if there’s anything you feel could further improve your stay Property Owner

Sandra “Amazing little cottage.”
There was everything you could possibly need. Lovely little welcome pack that went down a treat. The cottage was spotless My grandson who’s 6 said it was his dream home. You are so close to the beach it was perfect. I’ve already told people how great it is.
- Sandra, May 2024That’s lovely to hear Sandra…… you can’t help but feel super lucky coming out of the cold sea , straight into a warm cottage steps away as opposed to hiking up to the car parks with windbreaks/ cooler bins , and manic dogs. Particularly settled into a deck chair with a glass of wine watching the sunset . ( Am I projecting there ??) Property Owner
-
Paula “Beautifully updated and furnished house.”
Well equipped. amazing situation.
- Paula, May 2024Thanks for that Paula . Yes- the location is almost unreal !! And all looks so characterful when looking up the Strand from the beach . Always let us know if there’s anything you feel could be improved to make your holiday perfect if you decide to stay again. Property Owner

Robert “Pretty cottage close to the beach.”
Good quality bedding and towels. Single beds rather hard. Well fitted kitchen and it was very helpful to have bread and cake on arrival. Would have liked to have wifi. Overall, a good place to stay. Would stay again and also recommend to others.
- Robert, April 2024Hi Mr. Roberts, Apologies about the delay in responding. I’m sorry the WiFi was playing up- I have now spoken to BT and finding a solution . Many thanks for the information, much appreciated . Property Owner

Jean Marie “A Little Peace of Heaven On Earth !”
What a fabulous find, absolutely stunning cottage with everything you needed and more, the attention to detail was perfect. It was a lovely surprise and touch to arrive to find complimentary milk, bread & cakes after a long journey. Very stylish and high quality furnishings , the beds were so inviting and comfortable and top quality linen used which makes such a difference, having the choice of firm or soft pillows was very thoughtful and large fluffy towels. I have stayed in many beautiful places but I have to say this has to be the best, a real hidden gem and hard to beat. Added bonus was being able to park outside in the winter but saying that it does have its own parking space just a stones throw away behind the cottage, I had the most peaceful relaxing time and the cottage was so cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Beautiful sunset and sunrises right on your doorstep. Thankyou for sharing this beautiful home. Can not wait to return.
- Jean Marie, February 2024Thank you so much for your kind words , and we’re so glad you had a great time . What can we say- we’re suckers for nice bed linen etc. we hope you can visit again soon. Property Owner

Wendy “We had a lovely stay in Rock House.”
It was extremely well equipped, comfortable and clean. Being able to park outside in the low season was a treat! Welcome goodies of cake, butter, milk and bread were much appreciated. My only comment would be that the breakfast bar chairs were extremely uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. Given there is no dining table, this made eating in a little less enjoyable than it might have been! Other than that, this house gets 10 out of 10. So much care has been taken to make people's stay enjoyable. Thank you.
- Wendy, January 2024Hi Wendy- a very belated response ! Thanks for your kind words, and we’re so glad you enjoyed your holiday. I must say - the search for comfy kitchen stools that don’t rust or get stuck continues . Property Owner

Monica “Situation is perfect!”
Well appointed and luxurious inside. Plenty of utensils, glasses, crockery and cutlery etc. Bed linen and towels are high quality. Nice gesture of the rugs to wrap around on the sofa. Kind and welcoming note from the House Keeper, Karen, and some goodies and refreshments. Highly recommend this cottage.
- Monica, November 2023Monica, A very belated , and so berated response . We’re so glad you enjoyed . If you come again- please don’t hesitate to recommend any tips to improve your experience . Take care Property Owner

Nicky “Beautiful little cottage in an idyllic location if you’re looking to get away from everything… which we were.”
Wonderfully decked out with modern amenities but still managed to be sympathetic with the age of the property, oh & my wife now has kitchen envy so thanks for doing such a great job. Found all of the local information very useful so thanks for pulling all that together. Lovely little touches for our arrival, cake for us & some dog biscuits +dog bowl already filled with water for the pup.
- Nicky, November 2023Thanks so much for your words . We’re so glad you enjoyed ….. except a kitchen re- plan at home?? We have taken on board the cleanliness glitch and are back up to full speed. Property Owner
-
Michael “Very much enjoyed our stay at Rock House.”
Particularly liked the location very close to the sea. Cottage well presented. Just a couple of suggestions. Different colour towels would be good so that each person's is easily identifiable. A dining table rather than breakfast bar would be nice.
- Michael, October 2023 -
Willa “Amazing property, and we had a wonderful time.”
Only comments would be - needed salad servers! Also as we looked under the beds, under the sofa and drawers to check we hadn’t left anything, and it was filthy. Sorry to report, but the place needs a thorough clean, not just in the places you can see, but everywhere! We only noticed as we were leaving so not an issue for us, but something to focus on in future!! We absolutely LOVED our stay and it was presented beautifully, and what a gorgeous location thank you
- Willa, August 2023Hi, Sorry about late response - as I myself was on holiday there the last couple of weeks. I’m glad you enjoyed the cottage - and definitely the location. I’m so sorry you didn’t find the 2 sets of salad server . They were in the utensil pit- new kitchen , so already finding my way around . I wished you’d called Karen to let you know where they were. Cleaning wise. , it’s a funny cottage ! Crumbly traditional pointing etc. unfortunately sometimes Karen has to change over single handed- so we’ve ordered a few snazzy cleaning utensils and trying g to get a regular 2nd set of helping hands . Please do let us know if you have any more suggestions / questions and we’d be delighted to help. I’ve had a spending spree for the external lighting/ kitchen supplies and bedding and white company throws . So if you decide to visit again- it’ll be nice and cosy . Jonny Property Owner

Polly “Beautiful property in the best location!”
We were on holiday with our 2 teenage sons and our dog. The house was perfect, really well equipped with everything we needed. Excellent surfing and body boarding opportunities, but remember to check the tide times to avoid disappointment! There is a shop and a lovely cafe in the doorstep and a great pub with spectacular views less than a minute up the hill behind the house. We will be back!
- Polly, August 2023Belated Thanks Polly, Really appreciate your comments. Yes- vital to know the tide times , so we pop a tide table each year! Property Owner
-
Anthony “An excellent property in a wonderful position.”
Everything is of a very high standard. The double bed in the main room is a little cosy (but comfortable) but in smaller cottages and rooms its hard to put anything much bigger so completely understand and certainly didn't detract from our holiday.
- Anthony, July 2023Thanks so much for those kind words. We’ve re- invested in the wardrobes on the landing so all cases / bags etc. can fit in, so no clutter- and hopefully a smooth transition from the bathroom to slumber Property Owner

Michael “We loved coming back to Rock House for the third time.”
It was excellent as ever and we appreciated the revamped kitchen - a great improvement. Apart from the fact that it's expensive (ouch!) it provides a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday in a delightful location. The only suggestion we'd make is to provide a table and chairs at the front. It's none too comfortable balancing on the front bar of the deck chairs and using the front wall as a table!
- Michael, June 2023 -
Maria “Lovely cottage.”
Great location.
- Maria, April 2023 -
Holly “We had a super stay, location was amazing, as were the facilities and comfort at the cottage.”
- Holly, April 2023 -
Julia “Very well-equipped, comfortable, perfect location.”
This cottage worked so well for us (couple plus one dog). We met Karen as we arrived - she'd been to get us some firewood so we could light the log burner. She was really lovely and welcoming. We loved the milk, bread, butter and mince pies that had been left - very generous, lovely touches. We had a fab week and didn't want to leave to be honest! Thoroughly recommend Rock House, and I hope we will be back next year.
- Julia, December 2022 -
Jason “Very good, thank u.”
Just a tad cleaner to be 10/10
- Jason, October 2022Action taken now Jason. Please don’t hesitate to call Karen if you were to stay again. Many thanks Property Owner

Paula “Rock house is even better in real life than in the photos.”
Couldn't ask for a lovelier holiday, perfect house, perfect location. No issues whatsoever.
- Paula, September 2022 -
Tina “Everything was lovely, comfortable beds and pillows, clean and well equipped.”
The only slight negative is that the wardrobe space, particularly the two hanging rails were taking up with clothes, wets suits and other items which I guess belong to the owners? As there is no other space to hang clothes. I had to move everything and put them elsewhere which was difficult as there is bedding, hoovers, wash baskets, tea towels and an array of household stuff stored in all the other parts of the wardrobe which is the only storage place in the cottage. Other than that, I couldn’t fault the cottage and will definitely be returning.
- Tina, June 2022Thank you for your feedback, we have taken your comments on board. We will look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

Elizabeth “The cottage is very well equipped and thoughtfully furnished with everything you need for a lovely relaxing stay.”
Great attention to detail which was much appreciated. The property is perfectly located for easy access to the beach (covered at high tide but you can sit on the rocks or clamber over the cliffs to enjoy the sea) and the SW coastal path (the slopes are steep) The Port William (2 mins walk) offers pub grub and there’s a cafe for decent coffee and cakes over the road. The Mill House inn (10-15 mins walk) has a good restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed, peaceful holiday with our dog on this unspoiled part of the north Cornish coast.
- Elizabeth, June 2022 -
Joanne “Had a lovely stay last week at Rock House.”
The biscuits, bread and milk were very welcome on arrival and the cottage was warm. Well equipped kitchen and beds all made up and ready. Only complaints were patio area very uninviting hadn’t even been swept down and area generally dirty. Also lack of storage as owners leave some of their belongings in the wardrobe. Alas this didn’t ruin our stay and I would recommend this cottage to friends. The location is amazing we have been visiting this area for 25 years so it was an absolute treat to stay so close to the sea.
- Joanne, March 2022 -
Catherine “Fantastic holiday cottage.”
Lovely location. Everything you could need. The only thing that we couldn’t find was table mats but that could be that we just didn’t find them.
- Catherine, March 2022 -
Chris “A small point would be throws for the beds and softer throws for the sofa.”
Apart from the extra throws this is by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in, it's a fantastic cottage.
- Chris, March 2022 -
Gail “Very comfortable well equipped cottage in a stunning location.”
Only downside for some is that the internet isn’t great but can always use WiFi at the pub if needs be.
- Gail, February 2022 -
Sally “Fantastic location.”
.....minutes from the sea and pub!Very well equipped and easy for dogs staying. We arrived during one of the strongest storms of the year, wet ,cold and bedraggled but when we opened the door the cottage was warm and welcoming.Only downside is no mobile signal either at the cottage or in surrounding areas but there was a landline with an honesty box.Loved it.Loads tv options available although we didn't use them......too much else to do! Thoroughly recommend.
- Sally, January 2022 -
Anna “Lovely cottage in an amazing location for both the beach and the pub.”
We had a lovely time bodyboarding and generally relaxing. It's great that the cottage has bodyboards for guests to use.
- Anna, September 2021 -
Fay “A beautiful cottage in an amazing location.”
The owners have thought of everything and the cottage was equipped with everything you could need for a break at Trebarwith Strand - including a range of body boards. Would thoroughly recommend and will be rebooking.
- Fay, July 2021 -
Paul “Lovely well equipped house.”
Really close to the sea, step outside and you are there!
- Paul, June 2021 -
Rose “Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find the cutlery drawer!”
:) Two of us and a dog had a wonderful stay in Rock House in Mid-June and were able to completely relax. On arrival, Karen, who had prepped the cottage had left a loaf of fresh bread, scones, cream and a plentiful supply of Nespresso pods for the coffee machine (All of which were fully caffeinated - we LOVE you Karen!) The cottage has two bedrooms with a double and a twin - the twin is larger and easier to sleep in for that reason but both are v comfortable. The rear patio, while unfinished, is secluded and quiet and I was able to use it for my weight bench during our stay. Parking is immediately behind the property but you need to walk about 200 metres as there is no access from the rear - not a problem for brief periods of loading and unloading (During the summer you CAN park outside overnight) The Saturday change over day was a boon, judging by the friday traffic we saw on the way down (we stayed the night before our week at the Mill House Inn, another great, dog-loving location) It's a fabulous location, all of 20 yards from the start of the inlet and about 7 yards from the icecream shop (I averaged 2.5 cones a day) We're booking again next year to coincide with a full, supermoon so the tides will be lower and higher respectively :)
- Rose, June 2021 -
Tim “Apart from a dustpan and brush Rock House had everything that was needed.”
The smart TV was brilliant ! The coffee machine above expectation. We had a lovely time thankyou.
- Tim, May 2021 -
Louise “Fantastic location next to a rocky cove which reveals a great beach when the tide goes out.”
Cottage was perfect for the 2 of us and the dog. Double bed a little small which would be my only complaint because otherwise the cottage is excellent. Perfect location with coastal paths opposite and behind. Port William pub opened at the end of our stay and it was lovely to have a meal and watch the sunset.
- Louise, April 2021 -
Celia “Great location close to the beach, great facilities.”
Lovely Cornish Tea left for us with bread and milk. Cottage had everything and more you could need or want for your stay. Very comfortable. As we were the first ones back after lockdown on the 12th April the cottage smelt a bit musty and on top of the headboards in both bedrooms was thick dust. This was cured by getting the hoover out and leaving the door open to ventilate the cottage. It didn't spoil our holiday.
- Celia, April 2021 -
Tamsin “Wonderful cottage in a fantastic location.”
- Tamsin, October 2020 -
Liz “Lovely cottage, perfect location.”
Spotless and clean on arrival, new mattresses on all the beds. The scones and clotted cream were a nice welcome.
- Liz, July 2020 -
John “The wash hand basin in the bathroom has a blocked drain and can’t be used.”
Also I think a there is a leak in the ceiling from the shower because water appeared on the kitchen worktop after we had a shower. I’m not complaining but thought you should know
- John, November 2019 -
Gail “Fabulous cottage in fantastic location”
- Gail, October 2019 -
Helen “We sadly broke one of the white dinner plates on the slate floor - please could you let us know what we owe?”
Also, would be brilliant to have a proper bin in the kitchen - the one in the cottage had no lid and therefore we had to put it away as the dogs kept riffling through it!
- Helen, August 2019 -
Gail “Rock House was a pleasure to return to each day and we will definitely book it again”
- Gail, April 2019 -
Liam “Fantastic location!”
A lovely clean cottage, well equipped with homely touches.
