“We loved our stay at Lavender Cottage from the first minute and being greeted by the Owners with a welcome and a Cornish Cream Tea!”

The cottage was everything we had hoped for, well equipped and immaculate as are the garden and outside space. The beautiful Cornish coasts, north and south and many other places of interest are within easy reach and there is a pub serving good food two miles away. Julie and Neil work very hard to make sure every guest's holiday experience is a happy one and nothing is too much trouble.

Be welcomed by a delightful open-plan living area, separated between a sumptuous lounge, and a charm-filled kitchen including a dining area for four people.

Look forward to relaxing and unwinding in the lounge where you can catch up with your favourite shows of an evening, with the wood burning stove creating a warm and cosy atmosphere.

The kitchen has a set of contemporary wooden units and sleek worktops, with all the appliances you need to rustle up delicious meals.

Exposed stonework and ceiling beams grace the layout, showcasing a wealth of character throughout.

Two bedrooms are situated upstairs, there is a double and a twin room, both attractively designed with a collection of furnishings, from dressing tables and vaulted ceilings, Velux window with black out blind to enhance a fitful sleep (twin bedroom), to views over the stunning gardens.

Wake up to this beautiful landscape and relax on the furniture in the cottage’s private patio accessed via the stable door to the rear of kitchen, as you plan a barbecue for the evening for after the sun sets.

A superb base for walkers and their four legged friends, the cottage is pet friendly so you can both enjoy rambles in the beautiful local lanes and further afield.

The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with notable Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle on the outskirts.

About the location

BODMIN MOOR

Bodmin 7 miles; Launceston 14 miles

The vast and rugged Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms over 150 square miles of striking, rocky landscape, with much of it declared a Site of Specific Scientific Importance. This ancient location is home to mystical standing stones, old buildings dating from medieval times and thousands of years’ worth of tin mining heritage. There are plenty of beautiful walks to discover, with challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall, offering fantastic far-reaching views towards both the north and south coast on fine days. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with beautiful Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west, with a host of exciting attractions including its Courtroom Experience, the Bodmin Jail, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or a trip to see each of the seven holy wells, which lie dotted around the town. Ancient Jamaica Inn, which lies in the heart of the moor, brims with smuggling and pirate history; almost 300 years old, it's celebrated in Daphne du Maurier’s popular novel and is well worth a visit. With much to see and do, and stunning scenery all around, Bodmin Moor is a delightful destination for your holiday.
