“This apartment is stunning, we thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas and New Year here.”
The location is perfect for socializing and shopping and that view! Wow!!
The location is perfect for socializing and shopping and that view! Wow!! The only downside was the lack of internet, which was very surprising these days.
“WiFi, this day and age apartment needs it.”
The furniture main bedroom in particular is tired and worn. That said views are stunning and overall we were delighted with the property.
The owners are delighted that you enjoyed the stunning views. Wi-fi in this area is not an excellent service. The owner is planning to re-install the telephone line and add wi-fi for 2020 Owner relations
“+ Fantastic views over the estuary through large glass windows ...”
+ Fantastic views over the estuary through large glass windows + Great location for walking access into Falmouth + Good secure parking for one car - fitting two would have been difficult + Modern LG UHD TV with smart features (Netflix, Now TV, iPlayer etc) - shame that these features can't be used due to lack of internet - Lack of internet access even though the apartment has a phone line - we used a mobile phone hotspot which worked well with very good signal - The large area of glass makes the apartment very hot - we brought a fan but these should be provided - Doors creak throughout as do the single beds in the second and third rooms - Balcony is very narrow and even though table and chairs are provide these are virtually unusable - Only one shower which was quite dated - the bath has a shower head but no curtain or wall mount - Lack of hangers in the wardrobes An enjoyable stay in Falmouth but overall - 2 out of 5 on The Beacon
The owner is pleased that you found the location excellent and the views fantastic. He is planning to install wi-fi for 2020 subject to BT. There are three opening windows lounge to cool the property in hot weather. The shower head over the bath is not a stand up shower but to assist those washing their hair. Owner relations
“WiFi in this day and age is a must, so wifi is required.”
Also a shower screen should be fitted in the main bathroom otherwise everything was adequate
“We had a lovely week, the apartment was exactly as described and the views were stunning.”
Having scones, jam and clotted cream waiting for us was an unexpected treat. Would recommend this apartment to anyone.
“Greatly over priced.”
Numerous items broken or missing. The en-suite needs to be updated. The view through the window spoilt by blue film on lower lounge windows, windows not clean and some double glazed units are blown. This is the third time that we have visited the Beacon and we were very disappointed with the clarity of the view. It’s time that wi-fi is installed.
“This was our third stay in this apartment ,which we love.”
It was very clean and very comfortable with fabulous views. We have always been very happy at The Beacon. It was a pity there is no wi-fi, but otherwise it is fabulous.
“It's a great place to stay and has 2 free parking spaces that goes with it.”
The views are brilliant. A Short walk to the heart of Falmouth. The only thing that we had problems with was the inside door handles all need fixing, there loose and come out of their mountings. But we would stay here again.
“What we paid for with this apartment was the view which was spectacular.”
All the windows (double glazed many years ago) were blown and very drafty especially during the storm of our middle weekend and need replacement. Daylight could be seen in the bottom left hand corner of the Velux windows at the back of the property, but having no Wi-Fi at this property is definately a NO NO as is the lack of the lift. There is one there but it could not be used and seemingly has not been in use for many years and carrying suitcases up and down several flight of stairs is not good, even the housekeeper does not use it which just shows what a dire thing the lift is. It should be stated on your listing that there is no Wi-Fi and NO LIFT that could be used. Sound levels from the street below, especially at night and first thing in the morning is appalling. No soundproofing at all within the development. We could hear every word being said at street level and every car and motorcycle being driven on the road below. Being woken up at 2am and 5am every day is not good. The Beacon needs total modernization. It is very dated and tired and not worth the money being asked as rent. We have stayed in much better properties costing a lot less. I would say if you want a fantastic view, don't mind steps (lots of them), no lift, drafty windows that need replacing, noise from the street below, and no connection to the outside world via Wi-Fi then rent this apartment, we will not be doing so again.
