  • “In my opinion there were a few areas of concern re health and safety.”

There was no grab rail for the bath, which was deep and, I felt, slippery when wet - no anti skid mat or no anti slip surface. This made it impossible for the older members of our party to take a bath. There was likewise no grab rail for the shower in the en-suite which had a deep step up into the shower which made it difficult to step down off a slippery surface. Again, no anti slip surface. There were no locks on the bathroom or toilets. The bedroom doors did not shut properly and kept opening during the night. This was advertised as ‘sleeps 6’. This is misleading. It sleeps 4 adults and 2 children. The room with bunk beds in was narrower than the upstairs landing. The bunk beds were not suitable for adults which was not made plain. The velux blinds in the bedrooms did not remain closed when pulled down. The description of the garden is also misleading. The only garden comprises the two narrow ledges (about 6ft wide) at the front of the property. The edging parapet of the ledges was about 4 inches high and the drop over to the front was several feet as can be seen from the picture, with five steps leading up to the front door. In order to gain access to the ledges one has to step up from the steps over the parapet which is one thing - but to step back down there is no grab rail to steady oneself which our older members found difficult. The gravel gets slippery when wet. Not enclosed so not suitable for a dog (or indeed small children or older people). The garden at the rear does not belong to the property. So with no enclosed area for the dog we deem it not dog friendly. The lane was busier than we expected from the description. The property itself has been well renovated and the surrounding area is lovely.

They share a family bathroom.

A short stroll takes you to Loe beach, offering some of the most idyllic and tranquil sailing waters found anywhere along the south coast of Britain as well as a renowned water sports centre.

Here you can hire a range of water sports equipment including kayaks, paddleboards, sailing dinghies and motor boats.

Paddle around to the infamous 13th century Pandora Inn which sits on the water’s edge, or take a trip over to St Mawes on the King Harry Ferry.
