“Hi, We really liked Kersey cottage and it was ideal for us and our grandchildren for the week.”

Flushing is a quiet little place and we liked this. There were a couple of minor problems: 1. There was no gas for the BBQ so we had to change our plan for cooking one day. 2. One of the kitchen chairs was broken and this meant one adult had to balance of the back of a settee to eat meals, not ideal. 3. The paperwork for the cottage is in some disarray, and we found it difficult to use technology in the house. On the plus side, there was lots of hot water at all times for baths etc, and the bedrooms had lots of storage.

The property

Situated in the pretty waterside village of Flushing, just minutes from the beach and with wonderful views across to Falmouth, Kersey Cottage is fresh, colourful and inviting.

In the perfect location for messing about on the water, a stay here would suit anyone with an interest in sailing, kayaking or walking the coastal footpath.

Making the most of its traditional features yet stylishly uncomplicated and chic, this top-quality accommodation offers everything you could need for your holiday.

Located on the lower ground floor, the open plan living area with sitting room and adjoining kitchen diner floods with natural light thanks to a lantern skylight; the vibrant furnishings a beautiful contrast to the clean white walls.

Tri-fold doors open out from the kitchen to the garden – allowing yet more light and fresh air to drift through the property.

Head up to the ground floor where there is a double bedroom and a handy garage/utility; and on the first floor, there are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

With families very much in mind, the owners have thoughtfully provided a toy chest and games console in the bunk room – sure to go down a treat with the younger members of the family!

The enclosed courtyard garden is a wonderful spot for morning coffees and sunshine barbecues, with plenty of seating for everyone and a large gas barbecue.

When you are ready to explore, a lovely waterfront inn and seafood restaurant are within walking distance of the cottage, and many happy hours can be whiled away exploring the coastal path to Mylor.

Across the water, the popular town of Falmouth offers all sorts of things to see and do, including the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle, four lovely sandy beaches and a range of unique and quirky shops.

Go on a sea safari, visit one of the town’s fabulous sub-tropical gardens, or hire kayaks and discover the coastline from a new perspective.

Flushing and Falmouth also put on a great calendar of events each year, including Flushing Regatta Week at the end of July and Falmouth Week in August.
