The property

Dovecote is nestled in the countryside although just a ten minute drive to Helford Passage, Porthleven and the Lizard peninsular.

A blissfully private and secluded location where guests can roam at leisure over eight acres of fields and woodland that surround Merther Uny Farm House, tranquillity reigns.

The perfect base for couples, the gardens and extensive country views are a special feature and whether you simply want to relax and unwind enjoying the surroundings, or go out and about to explore the scenic banks of the Helford river, visit the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan or go beaching, all are conveniently close by.

Dovecote sits fronting onto a very pretty cottage garden with access to a small leafy orchard at the side.Take the two small hand-railed steps to enter the charming studio style accommodation and into a small galley kitchen fitted with white units.

Take another small step up into an open-plan room with vaulted beams and windows draped in pretty fabrics, arranged with a zip and link 6' bed (can be separated into twin beds if required), sofa and a dining table, and then we have a small en-suite shower room.

The Helford River is a delightful unspoilt estuary stretching from the outer edge of Falmouth Bay up to the old port of Gweek.

Enjoy the coves and quiet beaches of this beautiful seawater river estuary.

The romantic and mystical "Frenchman's Creek" immortalised by Daphne du Maurier might be your choice, or perhaps the Oyster farm at Port Navas to try some local shellfish. The harbour town of Porthleven is just 6 miles away with its harbour, beach, eateries and bespoke shops.

There are a number of pubs and eateries close by, including the Black Swan which is just over 2 miles from the property.

Just under 3 miles from the property is the Poldark Tin Mine and Gardens, an open air museum in a beautiful rural setting, bringing the past to life.

Helford 11 miles away. For larger parties we also let the neighbouring Woodpecker Cottage (ref 959062) which sleeps 4.
