“We have always been happy with cottages through your website, however on this occasion we did not feel your description matched the accommodation.”

Your details stated "central heating via log burner" there is no central heating in this cottage, there where no radiators in the cottage linked to a heat source. The kitchen had a range which warmed that room, the bedroom had a tiny panel heater, not sufficient for the room. The sitting room was very cold during the day, the amount of logs supplied where only enough to last two days, sufficient to say we had to purchase a lot more. We did not find the cottage comfortable in November because of the heating situation. There are some good points to the cottage there is everything you could possibly need i.e plenty of quality china and utensils, and there are nice touches that the owner supplies like fresh milk and biscuits on arrival, fresh flowers in the kitchen, there are plenty of books games etc, there is an iPod dock, but it feels like its style over substance when getting the basics right.

Thank you for taking the time to review Pennywort cottage. I am sorry to hear that it did not live up to your expectations. I have since asked Sykes to remove the 'central heating' description as I agree this could be misleading, I will also look into increasing the amount of logs supplied for longer stays. I hope I maybe able to welcome you again soon to Pennywort cottage with these changes in mind. I am obviously pleased you liked the finishing touches. Owner relations
