  • “Sweet little cottage that's been done out nicely and we had a lovely little break there.”

Clean and tidy. Nice bathroom, upstairs loo a bonus. It's handy for all the towns/villages you're likely to want to visit. Within easy walking distance of Camelford town (pub does excellent food) and the little community-owned leisure centre/swimming pool (which needs all the support it can get after the community saved it from closure). Providing a dog bed is a nice touch - had to get mine one the same as she totally rejected her knackered old bed for the duration of the stay! ...

Providing a dog bed is a nice touch - had to get mine one the same as she totally rejected her knackered old bed for the duration of the stay! Our only niggle (bearing in mind we stayed during a cold week in autumn!) is that the listing states the cottage has central heating - it doesn't. The wood burner IS the heating in the living room. While it's nice and cosy when lit, the room is, obviously, cold the rest of the time. There's a range in the kitchen, which keeps that nice and warm but it has little impact on the temperature of the living room. We'd taken an extra bag of logs from our store at home but still had to go out and get more during a 4-night stay. Considering heating is supposed to be included in rent, one small box of logs seemed a bit stingy. There were other minor housekeeping things (hardly any loo roll, no dishwasher tablets or bin bags), but not enough for us to decide to get in touch with the housekeeper and disturb our holiday. The owners haven't had it long and if they iron these little things out, it'll be a great little cottage that people want to return to time and again.
