“On the whole we enjoyed our stay.”

I feel there was only just enough for the stay to work.

The property

Head along winding countryside lanes, close to the stunning Cornish Riviera coastline, to the peaceful village of Herodsfoot and this irresistible bolthole with a big oasis garden and gorgeous valley views for walkers, honeymooners and nature lovers.

Bordering Deerpark and Herodsfoot Forest, The Little Barn feels deeply rural but the seaside town of Looe and the old world charm of Polperro are just a ten minute drive. A diverse and unique place, guests can walk (with dog in tow) along the stunning coast path and discover endless beaches or wander through the forest wonderland, located within minutes.

Return from rambling escapades to this detached stone barn conversion and squirrel yourself away in the privacy of the mature well-stocked garden.

You can sit on the patio in the shade of trees with a glass of red at hand and fire up the barbecue as the sun goes down over the valley.

For a refined dining atmosphere head into Looe which has a busy fishing port, a reputation for the freshest seafood and ample restaurants serving world-class cuisine.

Spend time exploring the town with its galleries, old inns, cafes, individual shops and the beach which permits dogs year round.

Hop on a pleasure boat to Polperro or continue farther to the exclusive waterfront town of Fowey. An intimate space, The Little Barn is small but perfectly formed with reverse level accommodation.

The interior design is distinctive.

In the open plan living room a subtle arty style, with some original pieces by local artists, combines with the relaxed simplicity of a plump leather settee, beautiful wooden furniture, a statement rug, scatter cushions, thick warm throws and tasteful decorative items.

All is comfortable and functional and the vaulted ceiling, exposed timber beams, lintels and trusses, slate flagstone floor, wide wooden floorboards and deep set windows add rustic character.

The kitchenette has all the essential equipment to cook delicious produce from the local farm shop and there is never a dull moment with an intriguing book collection, board games, sound bar and free Netflix.

Head downstairs to a gorgeous bedroom with a king size bed, the best quality bed linens, a sleek en-suite shower room and a door to the garden.
