    “We stayed at the property for 7 nights.”

    When we first entered the property ,it looks recently done but what welcomed us was a nasty smell (dirty mop perhaps). The smell went away after we bought some scented candles and air fresheners. The other reasons for poor rating are a) noisy plumbing and floorboards b) no WiFi for a day (our guess is unpaid bill as the WiFi stopped working on 31st and was restored when we complained) ...

    Thank you very much for your feedback, we’re glad that overall you had a good stay in Cornwall and were lucky to enjoy some good weather. We’re sorry it wasn’t perfect though. It can’t have been pleasant to arrive to a nasty smell and we’re pleased this dissipated quite quickly. We’re sorry that the Wi-Fi didn’t work on a day, but can confirm this absolutely wasn’t connected to an unpaid bill. It should have been working and we can only put this down to a temporary glitch. We don’t advertise a dishwasher, so whilst we know they’re useful to have, guests shouldn’t be expecting one. We’re pleased you enjoyed the holiday park and glad you were able to make full use of the facilities. We hope we’ll see you again soon! Property Owner

Prepare an array of home-made treats for the family in the well-equipped kitchen, before settling down to enjoy at the dining table as you toast to a wonderful family holiday.

Retire to the modern sitting-room and snuggle into the large corner sofa and unwind in front of your favourite series on the Smart TV.

As the evening grows darker, prepare for a new day in one of four bedrooms, on the ground-floor there is the option of a beautifully decorated double or twin, with a conveniently located shower room, ideal for those with mobility issues.

Head upstairs where you will discover a further two bedrooms a king-size and twin, providing flexible sleeping quarters for all guests, along with a contemporary bathroom for enjoying a long soak after a day of adventure.

The quaint town of Callington is perfectly located in the beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Tamar Valley, and is famed for its rich mining history stemming from the 19th century.

Callington has much to offer the many tourists that visit its streets year after year, from the quaint shops and tea-rooms offering the famous Cornish tea, as well as the Ginster’s Cornish pasty which is a must try in its homeland.

For a brief insight into Callington’s history, visit the The Callington Mural Project, which depicts Callington’s heritage and was created by professional and local artists.

Enrich your knowledge with a trip to the remarkable 15th century building of St Mary’s Church and visit the churchyard to view the tombs of the historical families of Callington and the Celtic Lantern Cross.

Ensure you make a stop to the annual Honey Fair if you are visiting in October, held on the first Wednesday, it hosts exhibitions, stalls, entertainers and delightful local treats.

Tavistock 9 miles; Launceston 11.5 miles, Plymouth 14.6 miles.

Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work. The pannier market town of Tavistock is only nine miles from Callington and is well worth a visit on your way to a day’s walk on Dartmoor. A splendid base to explore south Cornwall and West Devon.

Please note:
Upgrading works are currently undergoing in the holiday park to modernize underground sewage piping system.
No disruption will occur in the properties and the piping system will be in use without any restrictions.
The works are planned to end by the 15th of February 2022 and they will be paused between the 19th of December 2021 and the 4th of January 2022
Heavy machinery and trucks could use the internal holiday park roads and could possibly not adhere to the one way system due to the large turning circle.
