The property

Lying along a charming row of white, terraced houses looking towards the sea, in the quaint village of Portreath, is Lamorran, a lovely four-bedroom dwelling.

Offering a fabulous family holiday base in Cornwall, discover a simple yet stylish interior, creating a relaxing place to rest in between activities.

Come in from a day on the beach into the glass porch area, and hang up your wet swimwear and towels here to dry before you enter the charming property.

Unwind on the soft grey sofas within the light and contemporary sitting room; gather in the evenings over some drinks and nibbles and chat about the days to come, or settle down to enjoy a film together on the TV.

The long dining table is the perfect setting to come together for breakfast, enjoy a large spread of fresh food from the village, before you head your separate ways for the day.

Quality integrated appliances lie within the sleek, white kitchen, including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer amidst the rest, with a handy washing machine in the under stairs cupboard too.

Spend your time in the most favoured spot of the whole property; the incredible elevated decking to the rear, commanding beautiful views over to the beach and the sea, it is accessed via steep steps and is home to an outdoor sofa and seating, perfect for lounging on in the sun.

At night, retire to the first floor and choose where you will rest your head, pick from three attractive double bedrooms, each boasting a basin and a mirror within the room.

The décor consists of bright white walls, muted, neutral colours, and quality furniture to house your belongings, altogether offering tranquil environments to enjoy.

A children’s bunk room completes the bedroom setup and offers your little ones their own space to rest in and recharge.

Step atop the dark wood floor of the bathroom and indulge in an evening soak or a morning shower here, surrounded by the gleaming white tiled walls.

Stroll into the centre of Portreath and enjoy browsing the cafés and local shops, whether you're searching for souvenirs or looking for some fresh ingredients for a home-cooked meal back at the cottage.

When you're not sunning it up on the decking at Lamorran, head down to Portreath Beach where soft, fine sands await along clear blue waters, with surfers relishing the waves and surf breaks on the harbour wall or ‘Vortex’ as it's known.

Get refreshments from the Beach Café before heading to the beach for a fun filled day.

Surf hire and equipment can be hired from the town.

Follow the South West Coast Path to experience gorgeous views of the rugged coastline along the Godrevy Heritage Coast; continue down towards St Ives Bay and walk along Gwithian Beach for views of the seafront town.

Visit the amazing Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden, as well as the famous Tate St Ives, amidst the wonderful art scene here.

Take a boat trip from the harbour to Seal Island and marvel at the incredible seal colony here, glimpse the flash of a diving bird as it hones in on a target and you might even see a rare bottlenose or common dolphin occasionally spotted out here too.

Enjoy spending quality time with your loved ones in this scenic area of Cornwall at Lamorran.

About the location

Truro 14 miles; St Ives 15 miles.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
