    “Property was not cleaned very well, smell of sewage, broken bin, no welcome pack (despite picture of one in property details) no fire starter pack (again mentioned in details) no robes (mentioned in details) no visitor info (walking routes etc) bathroom window broken deliberately in case electric lock failed!”

    !? Not very reassuring especially when we had laptops and valuables and it was a single storey lodge! Dodgy dusty fake plants, one of which still had tinsel on it from Christmas! States that it is on a golf course, however that closed a few years ago and the grounds seem to have gone to ruin now. Garden furniture was covered in rust, weeds around the lodge and untidy grounds. Complained on arrival about the bin, cleaning and lack of starter pack for fire as was freezing when we first got in. We ...

They did replace the bin and fix broken window after we insisted that it needed to be and gave us the fire starter pack right in time for the warmer weather. Shame as property has potential, just seems like people just want to charge overinflated prices and not invest in good maintenance. With the lovely weather it would have been nice to have sat outside, but did not want my clothes ruined by rust stains! Feel very ripped off and would never return here or book with Sykes.

Killiow Estate Lodges

Truro is the retail centre of Cornwall with a good range of independent shops as well as national stores all within a compact city centre. With its eclectic range of art galleries, bars, restaurants, cinema, theatre, museum and outstanding cathedral this small city is a superb year round destination. Steeped in history and intriguing architecture there is always plenty to do and see. Just meandering through the Georgian cobbled streets is a pleasure in itself. With many peaceful parks all within a short stroll from the centre it is a most relaxing city to visit. A wonderful day trip can be had from Truro to Falmouth along the stunning Fal estuary with many options to disembark and pick up the boat later along the scenic river trip.
