  • “My partner and I stayed at Ty Bryn at the start of September once the kids had gone back to school and the majority of tourists had left Cornwall!”

It was a long 8 hr slog from Nottingham but that was soon forgotten about when we saw 'the view'. Ty Bryn is worth every penny for the view alone, just sitting on the balcony looking over at St Michaels Mount was wonderful, we were lucky that every day apart from one drizzly (but still warm) morning was lovely and sunny and very warm at times. The house has been renovated to the highest standards, no corners have been cut, everything is top quality. It is also very spacious with a lovely bathroom with a bath on the first floor and an excellent shower on the ground floor, 2 double bedrooms (spacious especially the one at the top) and a more than adequate single room. The kitchen is wonderful with everything you need, we ate out most of the time so didn't use it but everything was there as I checked! There aren't really any negatives as such but just a couple of things I think future guests should be aware of. Most important is the parking, the house is next door but one to a pub which is run by the owners of the house so you could park there and unload but you can't leave your car there so there is a garage a very short stroll away but it's tiny, we came in quite a 'posh' sporty car and there was no way ever it would fit in the garage, I wouldn't even attempt to put my fiesta in the garage so we ended up parking a bit further up the road in a community centre, we were lucky no one left a note on the car , not sure what we would of done if they had. Now you might say why come to Cornwall in a posh car, well we didn't know, if it had been on the Sykes website that the garage was only suitable for a small vehicle we would of come in a different car but it didn't, it just said parking for one car. The other thing would be there really isn't anywhere to hang your clothes, there is no wardrobe just a small hanging bar in the top bedroom which is ok for one person but if there were 4 adults staying then you would have to keep your clothes folded in the many drawers/shelves. And lastly I missed not having a mirror in the first floor bedroom and the single room I think a mirror is needed in the bedrooms. I would still stay here again and have already recommended it to many people, we had a fabulous stay at Ty Bryn. thank you
