“I have stayed in many cottages in the St Just and Pendeen areas over the years and St Martins View is simply the best, this was my first stay here and will certainly not be my last.”

The bungalow is well equipped and very cosy with the wood burner. The view from the lounge across the garden and to the sea is fantastic - even in January I could see the Isles of Scilly when it was clear a couple of days! Abi (owner) contacted me the day before I arrived to check I had all my details to find St Martins View and also checked with me on the Sunday that all was ok - very nice thought. On arrival flowers, milk, butter, scones, jam and clotted cream was very welcoming. If you do not have a car like me - then St Martins View is ideal as the local bus stops at the end of the lane and operates regularly during the day to St Just and Penzance - evening service also except on Sundays. This was ideal for going out for the day, or walking the coast path (which start at the end of the lane) and getting the bus back or going out in the evening for a pub meal. Recommended pubs the North Inn in Pendeen and the Queens Arms in Botallack - both excellent for food and ales!

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles.

One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas. The spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves, winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Scilly Isles. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
