  • “The house was great.”

Clean and in a beautiful location. There were wonderful walks locally and plenty of places to visit.

The property

This superb house overlooks the glorious north coast and has been fitted to the highest standard to provide a very special holiday home.

Set in grounds with views of the bay and sea, you will be taken aback by the location.

Once inside, the quality of the property is evident throughout.

A large lounge with exposed wood beams is complemented by a second living area, allowing plenty of space for larger families.

The dining area with open fire place and terrific views is an ideal room for family meals.

The kitchen has many features including a Belfast sink and the down stairs shower room is ideal for washing down sandy children after a day on the local beach.

The spacious bedrooms have spectacular views and quality furniture with the two main bedrooms leading out onto the newly built balcony.

The ground floor of Chy Ryn offers flexible accommodation providing a self contained annex with open plan living room and kitchen, a separate bedroom with 5' bed, en-suite and WC, ideal for grandparents.

Outside in the garden there are two seating areas, a traditional patio at the front of the house and a raised viewing deck, looking down toward the property and out toward the wonderful ocean vista, the view is magnificent.

A short trip into Mawgan Porth will take you to a sandy cove, small shops, cafes and a pub overlooking the beach but it is perhaps the stunning coast path and National Trust headland that draws people back to the area.

The Bedruthan Steps and Cornwall's newest luxury eco hotel The Scarlet are within easy reach as is Watergate Bay where you can try your hand at surfing or enjoy a meal at Jamie Oliver's restaurant.

Parking for 3 cars.

About the location

Watergate Bay 2 miles; Newquay 5 miles; Padstow 10 miles.

Nestled between Newquay and Padstow on the beautiful north Cornish coast, Mawgan Porth is a sheltered cove with golden sandy beach, great surf and plenty of caves and coastal footpath to explore. With little distraction from its golden sands, life here revolves around the beach. Laze in the summer sun, learn to ride the waves, or watch over stormy seas on a refreshing cliff top stroll. Mawgan Porth is also home to the fabulous adults-only Scarlet Hotel, which offers Spa treatments and facilities to non-residents - and nearby Watergate Bay is the setting for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, which sits in a fantastic location just above the beach. Mawgan Porth has a handful of shops, including a village store and deli, and a farm shop selling locally sourced meat, eggs, vegetables, bread and pasties, as well as tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course overlooking the Atlantic.

Note: sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 children (family groups and couples only).
