  • “We loved the property so much.”

It is close enough to the harbour to enjoy every thing Mevagissey has to offer. We loved grabbing in the day and Night time walks in the harbour.

The property

Perfect for a seaside holiday, this traditional Cornish cottage is situated in the heart of the charming fishing village of Mevagissey, strolling distance from its working harbour.

Tucked away along a quiet pedestrian passageway, Carefree Cottage sits away from the hustle and bustle yet is moments from the pubs, cafes, restaurants, galleries and shops which line the narrow, higgledy piggledy streets and cluster around the harbour walls. For families, couples, walkers, beach-bunnies and foodies it is ideal, and dogs are welcome too!

There is no need to bring the car although a parking permit is provided for use in the nearby public car park.

Coastal hikes begin from the door.

Explore the scenic South West coast path which runs through the village and provides access to Mevagissey Beach which is dog friendly year round.

For those who prefer a wider stretch of sand, head for nearby Gorran Haven or Pentewen Beach which is excellent for swimming and water sports.

Hop on a ferry from the harbour to the exclusive waterfront town of Fowey and see the natural beauty of the Cornish Riviera from the water.

The nearby Lost Gardens of Heligan, world-famous Eden Project and the historic port of Charlestown with its tall ships, as featured in the BBC's Poldark's series, are a must for the itinerary. You will feel instantly at home in this sweet little seaside cottage, newly refurbished and positioned at the end of a terrace.

Enter through a large hall into a sitting room, stylish and cosy with plump sofas, exposed beams, panelling, books, games, DVD's and decorative nautical touches.

Find everything you need in the compact kitchen dining room to cook up a storm and seating for four at the dining table.

Head up the steep stairs to two peaceful bedrooms with seriously comfy beds and views over village roof tops.

For practicality there is a WC on the first floor and a modern shower room located on the ground floor.

Outside there is a small area leading to the front door with a raised flower bed and bench for morning coffee and sundowners.
