The property

This three-storey,19th century property is located in the village of Mevagissey, Cornwall, within easy reach of the harbour and local amenities.

Pirate's Pad is a recently renovated, spacious property, ideal for a family or group of up to eight guests wanting a coastal retreat to Cornwall's south coast, while also being within easy reach of prominent attractions like Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Enter the property and head into the bright and spacious living/dining room, with dining seating for the whole group beside a warming woodburning stove and a cosy sitting room with a large corner sofa and matching love seat, where you can relax and enjoy reading a book, playing a family board game, or enjoying something on the TV.

The compact but well-equipped kitchen has all the modern conveniences you could need to prepare home-cooked meals, including a large Range cooker with double oven, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer.

Head up to the first floor to find the first two spacious bedrooms; a super-king-size double (can be made into a twin if required), and a king-size double with a TV and convenient en-suite shower room.

The family bathroom has a nautical theme of blues and whites, with a choice of corner bath and walk-in shower to prepare you for each day.

The second floor is accessed via a stairwell with restricted headroom in places, but the bedrooms themselves have a good ceiling height of 1.88m / 6ft2”.

On this floor are two spacious twin bedrooms, one of which has a zip/link feature and Velux windows.

Outside to the rear of the property is a courtyard garden with furniture, where you can enjoy an alfresco meal on a sunny day, while free parking for one car is available 300m from the house in Willow car park.

Located in the centre of Mevagissey, you are a short level walk from the picturesque harbour and walls, plus a host of amenities, pubs, cafés and restaurants, while the Mevagissey Museum and the botanical gardens of The Lost Gardens of Hegelian are just a few minutes away.

Enjoy scenic walks along the coast in both directions; head north towards the market town of St Austell and the world-famous Eden Project, before reaching the stunning Polperro Heritage Coastline, with a host of beaches and coves to choose from, including the National Trust's Lantic Bay, and visit the town and cargo port of Fowey, which can also be reached by a ferry taken from Mevagissey harbour.

Walking south, on the other hand, will bring you to the unspoilt Roseland Heritage Coastline, where you can visit the National Trust's Roseland peninsula, St Mawes and its castle and the beaches at Carne, Portscatho and Towan.

Pirate's Pad is well-placed for family-friendly getaway to the south coast of Cornwall.
