I wouldnt like to take very young children as it is on a busy narrow hill and is quite precarious to walk along. It is very quiet at night . We loved that the lounge is upstairs the view across the harbour is sublime. Mevagissey is a lovely town and near to the Eden project, the lost gardens of heligan and lovely walks. If you book this wonderful cottage make sure you book your restaurants before as everything was booked up for months. Our favorite was Salamander, really lovely food , with just being the two of us we ate out every night . But if you are a family the kitchen is very well equipped. The owners have thought of everything.

The property

Perfectly positioned for a waterside escape, Polkirt Forge, a stone built fisherman's cottage, is a true delight.

Ideal for an escape with friends or family, or simply as a couple, this traditional and nautically-themed cottage rests at the centre of the picture perfect fishing village of Mevagissey in Cornwall.

Move from the road and into the hallway of the property, before kicking off your boots and stepping into the dining room where a sofa conveniently sits for you to sit back and relax with a warming cup of tea in hand, or sit around the dining table together to enjoy an energising afternoon snack ahead of a day of excitement.

The kitchen/diner holds all the essential appliances and utensils you could need for a week-long stay, along with a delightful decor in the theme of neutral colours and maritime adornments reminding you of your wonderful location, here you can enjoy a hearty breakfast or simply your morning cup of coffee.

The ground floor is also home to the super-king-size bedroom, which can be a twin room upon request, giving you a variety of sleeping arrangements.

On the first floor the smart master bedroom, which offers views over the harbour, this room is perfect for those seeking a romantic retreat.

Move through into the sitting room where the gorgeous views continue, here you can all gather together in the evenings when you're not out exploring.

Spend some time in the courtyard and let the fresh coastal breeze wash over you before taking a short stroll to the harbour itself where you'll be greeted by waterside restaurants, artisan shops, an art gallery, museum and even an aquarium, promising excitement for all ages.

In close reach you can also find the wonders of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, or head further afield to Truro for a day of shopping experiences and riverside walks.
