“There is a lot of damp in the property behind the fridge freezer and on the back of the curtains in the lounge.”

It is really tiny. Smaller than expected. TV way too close to watch in comfort. Heating controlled by next door owners. Not able to adjust it yourself at all. However did give us a lovely hamper on arrival with tea coffee etc. nice touch. Hard to find as on side of owners property tucked away. We were outside and didn’t even know it was there. Needs better signage. On a huge hill. Not very accessible in a larger vehicle. But not owners fault that!

We are sorry you did not find our accommodation up to our usual high standards. The heating is controlled on a time clock as it seems wasteful to have it on continuously when someone is out but when you mentioned we turned it on straight away and said you could have it on whenever. Most people say it is a lovely cosy place but with a huge storm approaching it was understandable why you left early we hope you enjoyed your bottle of bubbly for your honeymoon and that you enjoyed better weather at home Best wishes Judith and Gareth Enjoy your married life together xx Property Owner

The property

With a private Jacuzzi hot tub to relax in after a day at the beach, Respryn offers the perfect retreat for couples at any time of the year.

Situated on a hill that rises steeply from the quaint harbour, Respryn lies away from the bustle of the village yet is within convenient walking distance of half a mile.

Explore the narrow streets and winding alleyways of Mevagissey to get a feel for everyday life in this working fishing village.

Clustered with pretty cottages, curiosity shops, old inns and restaurants they lead to a charismatic quayside and harbour where colourful fishing vessels come and go with the tide. In the summer months mackerel fishing trips leave from the quay as well as ferries across the bay to the beautiful waterfront town of Fowey.

Beach lovers are well catered for with sandy beaches at Polstreath just outside the village and Pentewan, just over two miles by car or less on the coast path whilst the beaches of Gorran Haven and Caerhayes are also within a short drive.

A public footpath close to Respryn leads to the picturesque cove of Portmellon which also boasts a restaurant and pub.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project with its inspirational biospheres of tropical and temperate plants are both within a fifteen minute drive.

A detached bungalow which has been split and cleverly adapted to provide self contained accommodation for two, Respryn is practical in every respect.

The open plan living area is cleverly arranged to maximise all available space incorporating a well fitted kitchen and a small sitting area which overlooks a very attractive patio garden offering a jacuzzi hot tub for exclusive use by guests of Respryn.

A comfortable bedroom and a lavish bathroom complete the picture.
