The property

Lying between the market towns of Holsworthy and Great Torrington in a tranquil countryside setting, Bailey Cottage, is one of two very tastefully converted holiday barns. Bailey Cottage has a spacious light and air interior with open plan living room with patio doors leading onto a sunny decked terrace to the front of the property.

The modern furnishings are complimented by exquisite retro glass pieces, displayed on shelving and a contemporary room divider separating the dining area.

A separate kitchen is equipped with all you could wish for to provide you with a relaxing holiday.

There are two attractive bedrooms on the first floor with vaulted ceilings, the master benefiting from an en-suite shower room.

There is also a spacious family bathroom.

Outside a store room is a useful addition and houses a separate freezer for your own private use.

Raised sunny gardens to the rear are shared with the sister cottage Motte and the owner who lives next door, who is on hand for assistance.

Equipped with garden furniture including a gas barbecue and Chiminea, there is ample room for children to play.

To the front your own decked patio is equipped with patio furniture for alfresco dining.

Close to the Cornwall Devon border, providing an ideal base to explore the surf and sandy beaches of Bude and Widemouth bay which are within a half hour easy drive.

Enjoy a day out on two wheels exploring Dartmoor and head for Okehampton where you can join the traffic free cycle route The Granite Way.

Further East, enjoy exploring the Hartland Heritage Coast, a walkers paradise and part of the North Devon AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Hop on the train at Barnstaple and marvel at the breathtakingly beautiful countryside as the line winds its way through Tarka Country to the cathedral city of Exeter, or make a day stopping mid way to enjoy miles of unspoiled country walks.

The Tamar Lakes are just 20 minutes and ideal for leisurely walks or more energetic water based sports.

The ancient market town of Holsworthy lies nestled amid the rolling green hills of Tarka Country. There are many different landscapes within the region, from rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to rolling farmland and lush valleys. Holsworthy has much to offer, including a swimming pool, tennis court and splendid park with bowling green. The town centre boasts a varied selection of traditional shops, pubs and cafés, based around the market square. There is an 18-hole golf course just outside the town, while the local area is rich with opportunities for fishing, sailing, cycling and walking. The sandy beaches at Bude are within easy reach, while further afield visitors can explore the changing face of the South West Coastal Path, dramatic Exmoor and Dartmoor, and unspoilt Bodmin Moor, or simply relax in the quiet countryside that typifies North Devon.
