The property

Positioned between the market towns of Holsworthy and Bideford, Motte Cottage is one of two highly stylish converted barns.

They make the ideal holiday base to return to after a day exploring this beautiful part of Devon.

Pop over the border to Cornwall for rugged coastlines, hidden coves and the surfing beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay or take a boat trip from the 'little white town' of Bideford along the coast or across to wonderful Lundy Island, don't forget to look out for dolphins and seals.

For a fun family day out The Big Sheep is nearby or for the energetic a walk or cycle along the Tarka Trail provides hours of outstanding scenery with plenty of places to stop for that much deserved cream tea.

The windswept moorland of Dartmoor is within 30 minutes, where from the market town of Okehampton you can join the cycle routeThe Granite Way.

The Tamar Lakes is a great day out with many water sports for the energetic to try and just 20 minutes away.

Within walking distance of the cottage is The Woodford Bridge Country Club, open to non residents for relaxing drinks and an evening meal.

With so much choice in the area, a week won't be long enough! Motte Cottage, suited to 2 adults and 2 children up to 16yrs is roomy and spacious.

The ground floor open plan interior incorporates a kitchen diner, equipped with a good range of equipment, with doors leading onto a sunny level decked patio equipped with table and chairs.

A stylish living room leads from the dining area, furnished with crimson settee and tub chairs, with patio doors opening onto the front of the property.

Two very attractive bedrooms on the first floor with vaulted ceilings, have use of a pristine bathroom, the master bedroom also benefits from a Juliet balcony.

Outside to the rear, steps lead to a raised garden, shared with the sister cottage and owner who lives next door and is on hand for guests.

Ideal for children to play and families to relax, the garden is equipped with further garden furniture a Chiminea and gas barbecue for guests to enjoy.

The cottage has a useful outside store with separate freezer.

The ancient market town of Holsworthy lies nestled amid the rolling green hills of Tarka Country. There are many different landscapes within the region, from rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to rolling farmland and lush valleys. Holsworthy has much to offer, including a swimming pool, tennis court and splendid park with bowling green. The town centre boasts a varied selection of traditional shops, pubs and cafés, based around the market square. There is an 18-hole golf course just outside the town, while the local area is rich with opportunities for fishing, sailing, cycling and walking. The sandy beaches at Bude are within easy reach, while further afield visitors can explore the changing face of the South West Coastal Path, dramatic Exmoor and Dartmoor, and unspoilt Bodmin Moor, or simply relax in the quiet countryside that typifies North Devon.
