“I cannot see the ratings for the above 4 questions, so I have selected what I am guessing is 'good', and then 'very good' for facilities.”
We would most definitely recommend this property and Honicombe Manor, for good value, location, comfort & facilities on the site. All very good.
The house was great - my daughter loved it and would like us to get a house like it! Upstairs open plan living/dining/kitchen was very nice. This particular property, No 27 is a great one as it benefits from an open aspect across fields at the rear from the large window/balcony, this was lovely with trees up the bank very near and the birds happily singing! All was clean, well equipped, simple to use, nice and comfortable, very spacious living accommodation. Nice to find DVD's, puzzles and books in the house too.
The pool was really nice, food in the restaurant was nice, all staff were really nice & friendly, we did an archery session which was fun and good value. We could have made more use of the facilities than we did - played tennis once, wish we had every day, there was never anyone on the court, facilities card includes access to gym, there are a couple of therapists you can book massage and other treatments with too. Games room was well equipped.
Slight negatives (feedback really, wouldn't stop us recommending): The mattresses in the twin room were not very comfortable - they were a bit lumpy/'springy', the water pressure was low for showers, there was no shared garden outside space immediately beyond the property (which from the description I had thought there was - there is a grass area a short walk away though), parking was pretty tricky outside the property several times - ie. there are enough spaces for the number of properties in that little enclave. There were places to park in a different section that was not a lot further away, so it was not too much of a problem. One more definite point about that and the property description though, the property is down a bank and so access is via a number of steps and a path - so wherever you manage to park, it would not be good for anyone with mobility issues, perhaps older guests etc, everything has to be carried up and down steps - this was not mentioned in the property description.
