Magical Padstow is packed with personality set around the colourful quay. From Sunrise Cottage, the walk to the harbour and attractions is a 150 metre stroll. Enjoy a gentle amble around the harbour, dipping into the lanes to browse the art galleries and gift shops. Watch fishing boats come and go from a sunny vantage point in one of the coast-side cafes, or plonk on one of the benches that arc the harbour with a pasty or ice cream indulgence. There are lots of characterful inns and eateries for feasts; Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth at No.6 are worth a visit. The coastpath walk along the River Camel promises breathtaking views across Rock and Daymer Bay, with golden sand and sublime sailing waters. The ferry will bob you across to these resorts, or board a speedboat for a fun excursion. Continue the ramble to Padstow Lower Beach with views to Polzeath. Up coast is the stunning cove of Port Isaac, famed by TV's 'Doc Martin', or head west to Mawgan Porth and Newquay beyond; hire surf gear on Fistral Beach and get wet!

Padstow is situated at the head of the Camel Cycle Trail and is a fantastic base for exploring the South West Coastal Path which opens up routes to beautiful Cornish countryside. This delightful fishing port is surrounded by sandy beaches and offers many opportunities to taste the locally sourced produce in celebrity owned establishments. Padstow has something for everyone with watersports, walking, cycling and fishing, you can even take a trip on a local fisherman’s boat! The excellent surfing beaches of Harlyn and Constantine are ideal for safe family fun, and Constantine Bay is also home to a golf course, just a few miles away, while a passenger ferry across the river from Padstow to Rock takes you to the beach at Daymer Bay. Just around the corner toward Pentire Head is the surfing paradise at Polzeath, and when the beach no longer calls, there’s a golf course nearby, several stately homes and gardens to visit. The fabulous Eden Project is just over twenty miles away.
