“Some of the reviews for byre cottage are hilarious!”
It's a really nice place to stay. Quiet clean lots of room. Great to have the ensuite. Kids loved it. We loved it. Beds are comfy as are sofas. Everything worked as it should and they supplied towels loo roll washing tablets etc. Which was nice. Ignore the idiots moaning about the tv and internet it worked for us and who really goes on holiday to the country side and worries about internet!? Thanks very much.
“The cottage was lovely and very comfortable and perfect for our family of four.”
The cottage was a little difficult to find at first but was a beautiful location once found and an excellent place to relax with the family. Great views and outdoor tables for sitting and enjoying the view.
“The holiday cottage was spotless, the beds are very comfortable we could not fault anything about it.”
Byre cottage is very child friendly too even having plastic cups and bowls for the children. The owners even supplied extras that we was not expecting. The owners where very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. This is a wonderful place to stay, kids loved seeing the horses and playing with the dog. I would highly recommend this cottage. We will definitely be going back again.
“This is a lovely peaceful cottage, very well equipped.”
“A lovely well equipped cottage.”
Very peaceful and we had a very enjoyable stay.
“Lovely place, great hosts, tv reception awful and wi fi hit and miss, good to get everywhere you need to go, would really like to stay again, just a very long drive home!”
11 hours!! Due to weather and road works!
“Finding it was a little difficult as in the directions they referred to a sign on the road pointing to Higher Laity Farm, but the sign was not there.”
There was a sign on the farm road that merely referred to rights of access and had the farm name in the text. It was very peaceful. Once we had located the farm travelling out was very easy with just a short distance to the A.30
“Had a wonderful stay at Byre Cottage.”
One of the best equipped holiday lets we have ever stayed in. We enquired about using the BBQ and when they found the old one unserviceable, Roger went out and bought a new one for us to use, along with charcoal and lighting fluid. Would definitely stay again.
“The accommodation was nice the dogs are lovely.”
The down side we only had WiFi for about 2 to 3 hours a day not very good as when I rented the accommodation that was one of my main facilities I needed.
“Lovely cottage away from it all weather was kind to us so could travel around ...”
Lovely cottage away from it all weather was kind to us so could travel around comfortably a bit limited where the dog could walk and the two settees in the cottage found to be uncomfortable as they were too low
“The Byre was well equipped.”
Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided as a welcome gift. Beds were lovely and comfortable, the sofas were not very good though. Shower in the ensuite was excellent but the hot tap in the bath barely functioned. In the mornings we could hear the footsteps of the people in the rooms above. All utensils necessary for cooking were provided a internet worked fine with a few restarts required. Ample parking. The young lady from the farmhouse was very helpful and Murphy the dog was charming. Portreath beach was 2 miles and 5 minsaway and is a very good beach for younger kids as the surf isnt too ott. The was a largeTesco store a couple of miles in the dirsction of Redruth handy for supplies. All told we would happily book again.
“Unfortunately the owners dogs were allowed to room freely and could get under the gates into the small garden.”
Went down with chronic diarrhoea after being stung by a horse fly. Gp asked me where I was staying and when I mentioned a farm he said that it would have been from the horse and cow faeces that the horse fly had contaminated me with. Will not stay here again
“This was our second year at the Byre Cottage and I will be booking for next year today.”
“We did enjoy our stay at Byre cottage, however it would have been nice if the owners had introduced their selves.”
The visitors guide said we could order meat from them which we thought would be a lovely idea, we had Seen people in the house by our cottage and assumed they were the owners although one gentleman was the only person to acknowledge us, we couldn't catch anyone at home so left a note on the Monday but unfortunately no meat arrived! There also stated there was a petting area but no signs as to where and we didn't feel comfortable just wandering around. A few signs would have helped especially if we had had our grandchildren with us. The only downside to having people stay above us in the loft accommodation was that they chose to do their washing at 10pm at night which vibrated very loudly in to our room below.
“Very comfortable accommodation with lots of attractions on our doorstep would definitely stay at Byre cottage again .”
“Lovely cottage, friendly owners and very well equipped, fairly easily accessed from the A30 so no difficulty in seeing most of Cornwall.”
“Everything you need for a care free holiday.”
Great time had by all. Highly recommended. Thank You
“The people who live about were very noisy we had to ask to be moved.”
“Really enjoyed our short stay here lovely cottage very comfortable & had everything we required, great location & great for walking the dogs on Portreath beach & getting around Cornwall, the only disappointment was having to leave 3 nights early due to the weather forecast for Cornwall glad we did as the country ended up in gridlock due to snowfall.”
Highly recommend this location.
