“Great location and lovely cosy cottage”

The property

This delightful end-terrace cottage rests in the pretty ex-mining village of Illogan in west Cornwall.

Rose Cottage offers a couple or small family a lovely holiday home with pretty countryside views, as well as being just two miles from the coast at Portreath, making it an ideal base for those wanting to explore the coast and countryside of Cornwall.

Roadside parking is available a short walk from the cottage, so once you have secured your space, head into the property to be greeted by the well-equipped kitchen/diner, complete with breakfast bar, display Range cooker and all of the appliances you could need to cook up a storm.

Enjoy a moment of relaxation in the conservatory, enjoying a good book or admiring the garden, and head out of the patio doors into the gravelled garden, where you can enjoy an alfresco meal at the table and soak up the glorious sunshine.

The cosy sitting room has a fantastic feature fireplace with exposed brick, as well as a wall-mounted TV, which you can enjoy from the comfort of the sofa or armchair.

Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms offering ample storage space and pretty garden views, with a twin room as well as a double with a picturesque window seat, both served by the tiled family bathroom, offering a shower over bath.

Illogan centre is a short walk away, with a selection of restaurants and shops, plus a pub serving food, a bike hire shop, should you wish to explore the area on two wheels, and a lovely park to stroll through.

Nearby, the town of Redruth offers a fantastic day out for the whole family, with two fascinating museums, a cinema and theatre and a trampoline park.

For a day by the sea, Portreath offers a stunning sandy beach just two miles from the cottage, where you can enjoy surfing and a range of other watersports, as well as being able to access the magnificent South West Coast Path.

Venture west along the coastal path to dsicover many scenic viewpoints, such as Basset's Cove, explore charming woodland at Tehidy Woods and admire the incredible cliffs at the long sandy beach of Godrevy, owned by the National Trust.

St Ives and Penzance each offer idyllic harbours and a vibrant arts scene, with lots of galleries to admire, while the magnificent beaches of Cornwall's north and south coastlines are both within easy reach.

Rose Cottage is well-placed for exploring the best of Cornwall's coastline and countryside.
