“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palm Lodge, a pleasant location in a secluded garden and decking with views out to sea.”

Pleasant walks down to the local beach. Parking at the beach is reasonably priced and access is good if you are taking surfboards or canoes.

The property

This cute coastal lodge is a short walk from Praa Sands beach, within the grounds of the owner's home.

Set over one floor with sea views from the raised deck, the accommodation has a modern fresh interior and makes the ideal hideaway for couples.

The open plan living space is colourful with dining area and contemporary kitchen space for food feasts and socialising, and generous sofa for relaxation.

The bedroom boasts comfort and the shower room is pristine.

The raised decking is the best spot for enjoying the ocean view, sitting with a book or dining alfresco.

There is also an additional shared lawn with mature flower borders.

Sitting within the crescent of Mounts Bay, within a short walk, Praa Sands is an excellent surfing and swimming beach.

Lifeguarded during the summer months, there is also a surf school offering kayak, surfboard and wetsuit hire.

The cafe and bar/restaurant at the western end of the beach is popular, and a stroll to the eastern end will ensure tranquillity.

Praa Sands is also home to a nine hole Golf and Country Club, open to non members plus a small post office stores for provisions.

Within fifteen minutes drive Penzance has a wide choice of shops plus galleries.

This stretch of the south coast is home to some beautiful scenery so bring your walking boots and head out on the coastal path to discover the impossibly pretty Prussia Cove, a smugglers haunt and good swimming spot, just a mile to the west.

Heading east you will pass old engine houses on the way to Porthleven, a pretty harbour village with several good pubs and restaurants to choose from.

Ideally located for a superb beach holiday, Palm Lodge makes a super coastal haven.

About the location

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks – a Post Office and general stores, beach cafe with fish & chips, and a beach/surf shop stocked with everything you could need for a great day at the beach. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers.

Note: Regretfully no children or babies accepted
