Gather together at the dining table, adorned with vibrant seating for six guests, and serve the fruits of your labour, or venture out through the patio doors and ascend the steps to the outdoor seating area to indulge in an alfresco affair, enveloped by the peaceful setting of the well-maintained and colourful grounds of the garden.

As the evening grows darker, venture back inside and retire to one of the three well-presented bedrooms to rest your head, with the choice between a king-size, benefiting from its own en-suite shower, a further king-size, or a twin room with a zip and link feature, making for a flexible sleeping arrangement for couples, children and friends sharing.

In the morning, kick-start your day with an invigorating rinse in the shower room, or opt for an indulgent soak in the tub situated in the contemporary family bathroom, both stylishly tiled throughout and ideal for avoiding morning queues!

Take advantage of your central location and take the short stroll into the heart of Kilkhampton where you'll find a handful of amenities, including a traditional country pub, a quaint tearoom and a delicious takeaway, alongside a well-stocked convenience store, ideal for picking up any last-minute essentials.

Pack up your bucket and spade and travel to the popular seaside resort of Bude, here you can marvel at the remarkable 19th century architecture of The Castle Bude, home to a fascinating local history museum and an on-site café or feel the sand between your toes as you paddle the shores of Summerleaze Beach.

Thrill seekers can try their hand at paddleboarding at the semi-natural sea pool, or if that's not your thing, embark on an adventure along the South West Coast Path, running alongside the rugged Cornish coastline, passing hidden coves and offering panoramic views across the scenic waters.

Keep the little ones entertained and venture further afield to The Milky Way Adventure Park, where you can expect thrills on the towering rollercoasters, come face-to-face with birds of prey at the wildlife display, or catch a live performance at the indoor arena.

Tour the extensive landscaped grounds of the Victorian-era Hartland Abbey, dating back to the 18th century, before adding a touch of luxury to your stay with an indulgent spot of traditional afternoon tea at the on-site tearoom.

About the location

KILKHAMPTON

Bude 4 miles.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
