“Cottage was nicely laid out with fresh bedding and towels.”

The only criticism would be that it could have been a little cleaner. Some of the windows had dead insects on and some of the kitchen sundries/utensils could have been cleaner. Also a twin pack of toilet rolls would have been nice, although the cottage is closer enough to the town to get some quickly. This is an excellent base, but a little greater attention to detail could easily make the stay more enjoyable.

“Great location, good facilities- everything you need.”

Can’t recall if it detailed shower only? With a baby we needed and assumed there would be a bath. The double bed is advertised as king size and is only a double- which was fine but it was so uncomfortable we ended up sleeping in a twin room. The springs can be felt and we only managed to try and sleep in that room for one night. It was grubby and there were blown up balloons behind one sofa from previous visitors- 40th birthday balloons not cleared away. The building is very musty and was impossible to dry any clothes inside and all clothes came home smelling musty. It could be a lovely cottages but needs some attention in some areas

“Issues as follows: 1) listed as having a king size bed.”

This is untrue, it was a std double. What made it worse was the mattress felt about 20 years old. Very uncomfortable. 2) Bathroom walls covered in mould - felt like a health hazard. I can send photos if necessary. 3) No curtains on any bedroom windows. Blinds insufficient to keep out any light - inconvenient in mid summer 4) Property on the whole smelt musty. Generally unclean, especially in the downstairs living area.

Perranporth, a beautiful Cornish coastal town, lies in the heart of Poldark Country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Perranporth offers plenty of traditional pubs and shops, plus a classic bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in summer, overlooked by craggy rocks and a wonderful coastal path. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of the rich heritage with abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages.
