“Lovely location and cottage is comfortable with all facilities as advertised.”

Owners have Tried to squeeze en-suite into each bedroom that has made each room very small with little room to move. Very little space for hanging clothes or storage of luggage. Pool area really good but was asked to only book one time slot for the whole of the stay and then see what’s available after that although property advertised with use of pool, nothing states limited. Building works being undertaken on other properties in close proximity so quite noisy during the day. Wouldn’t be rushing to return to the cottage but would definitely look at booking again in the area as Portscatho is beautiful.

About the location

St Mawes 5 miles ; Truro 15 miles ; Mevagissey 13 miles

Once an important pilchard-fishing village, today Portscatho is a popular holiday destination for those seeking a traditional seaside location. Brimming with Cornish charm, there is a sandy beach and a harbour, as well as a pub, a butcher’s, a greengrocer’s and a handful of gift shops and galleries. The coastline here is most scenic, with hidden coves, secret beaches and mile upon mile of undulating coastal footpath. The village of Gerrans is just a short stroll along the shore, and the beautiful Porthcurnick beach is also accessible via the coast path from Porthscatho. Portscatho offers a holiday away from it all, with a welcoming community spirit and several annual events which everyone gets involved with – including the fish festival each August.

Note: AGA lit from 1st October to 1st April

Note: The indoor pool facilities are open from 12 April 2021. Access may be

guidance. A booking system will be in place which can be accessed by
contacting the main reception up to 1 week before your stay. They can be
reached by calling 01872 580289

Note: Regarding the access to the swimming pool: guests are asked to
follow easy instructions of requesting the link to the booking system
and then booking their first session before they come. When they are
here they have been offered further sessions based on availability. This
also fits the current guidelines set out by the Government, as the pool
is not allowed to be shared at the present time. The restrictions are due to
be lifted from the 19th July and so all guests will have access to the
booking system as it will be published online.
