  • “The house was comfortable and very clean we loved the little robin and squirrels that came to the patio doors every morning.”

But trying to get the tv remote to work was quite annoying. Having no phone signal when you have teenagers with you is not recommended.

The property

Set in a fabulous position on the Maen Valley Park, just on the outskirts of Falmouth, is this charming self-catering cottage, Pheasants Walk.

Within reaching distance of the breath-taking shores of the southwest coast of Cornwall, this homely abode provides a restful base from which families or groups of six can delight in an unforgettable seaside adventure.

Feel the warm and welcoming embrace of the homely open-plan sitting room, as you relax on one of the plush sofas whilst catching up with friends, or join together at the dining table as you begin to map out your time in Cornwall.

Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen with the help of the many appliances and utensils that lie within.

As you head towards the staircase, discover a well-designed cloakroom with a basin, heated towel rail and WC, a wonderful space to quickly freshen up before continuing with the day's festivities.

Up on the first floor there is a large and contemporary bathroom hosting both a bath and overhead shower, as well as three splendid bedrooms comprised of two doubles and a twin.

Outside, you can escape the excitement with your favourite novel and a cold glass of wine out on the patio, whilst the children play happily on the well-kept communal lawns.

Spend the afternoon at Gyllyngvase Beach, or venture along the rugged terrain of the South West Coast Path on an awe-inspiring hike.

There's much fun to be had at the centre of Falmouth with attractions such as Marlborough House, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, and Pendennis Castle, all waiting to be explored.

There's also a number of bustling bars and popular restaurants to dine in, leaving you to hang up your oven mitt and enjoy a fun night out on the town.

Catch the train to the city of Truro and uncover Victoria Gardens, the Royal Cornwall Museum, and Truro Cathedral, or head further afield to Helston to see Grylls Monument and the Museum of Cornish Life.

Those travelling with children should be sure to stop by Flambards Theme Park or Llama Lland, whilst outdoor enthusiasts will relish in a day spent exploring Carn Marth little quarry and Carvannel Down.

Closer to home, Penryn is well-worth a visit, and Maenporth is home to some of the finest beaches in the area.
