“The stay was pleasant.”

There were 5 of us and there it was great to have 3 ensuite bedrooms. The room that was converted from a living room next to the dining room is as per what all the other reviews have mentioned, it's really warm. We turned off the heater next to the dining room and left the window above the dining table open so that the bedroom could be aired. It maybe better if a small standing fan is added so that it's not that warm. The bathrooms were really small and tight but it serves its purpose. Overall a ...

It maybe better if a small standing fan is added so that it's not that warm. The bathrooms were really small and tight but it serves its purpose. Overall a pleasant stay and location wise, it's driving distance to most of cornwall's scenic places to visit. However, we were not happy to book this place through VRBO because Sky Cottages charged us an extra £7.59 booking fees which is a small sum but principally, they shouldn't have charged extra on top of the full fees paid on VRBO.

“Exactly as described although the double bed was not very comfortable as it's a mattress on a platform frame and the quality of pillows was poor.”

There is no airflow in the smallest bedroom so a fan would have been nice. It was rather warm in all of the rooms and the bedroom doors do not stay open without propping them with a nightstand. I realize not many places offer 3 bedrooms but in this case I think sacrificing a living room for a bedroom might have been a mistake. The kitchen was spotless and the washing machine appreciated. The snacks on the table were a nice touch, thank you. The showers had great water pressure and hot water. The lights are on motion sensors and they go off after a few minutes so you are suddenly plunged into darkness while you're in the shower. Fortunately it was easy to trigger the lights back on just by trying to open the shower door but the first time it happened was rather disconcerting. I take relatively quick showers, 10 min tops, and the lights went off 3 times. Nowhere is it posted that the lights are on sensors or the timing of staying on or a way to override while you're showering. The lights in the main areas are also all on motion sensors which is convenient except the smallest bedroom had the lights filtering in from the seating area that take forever to turn off. It is rather conveniently located to one of the main streets and the Aldi grocery store. Fortunately it was an easy walk from the train station at 11:30 at night, although Wellington Rd had some poorly lit areas. It's also an easy walk to the bus station. I never received any communication from the owners about our late arrival nor whether they had suggestions on where to store our luggage after checkout as we still had a full day of visiting. They did not respond to messages via VRBO and the Sykes Cottage always gave me an error message on the "contact the owner" page so that was very frustrating. The sign on the back of the smallest bedroom door talked about the COVID-19 protocols. They mention putting the bed linens in the provided red bags that where nowhere to be found. Also mentioned not walking on the carpets with shoes on which should be posted at the entrance, not behind the bedroom doors. Overall, it mostly suited our purpose and while it did explicitly state there was no living room area, sitting around the kitchen bench for social time isn't very comfortable. Would I stay here again? Maybe but only if I didn't have 6 adults. Would I recommend it? Only for smaller parties, at most the 2 big bedrooms. Maybe kids could sleep in the double bed. Also, a pillow upgrade is sorely needed. The pictures of the beach are rather deceiving as you're not actually on the beach but 40 min away by bus.

“Fantasic cottage, only thing to recommend is firstly maybe a non slip shower mat for cubicles.”

Secondly although we looked we couldn’t find a teapot anywhere, so it was one cup at a time. But as already stated loved. Found it ideal to do the Branch lines of Cornwall. Will definitely use again.

“If a frozen house is what you are looking for, this is a perfect house for you.”

We arrived at Saturday night and the central heating was on for a couple of hours. Then, it was switched off and there is no way to control it from the house. Only the manager and the owner can control it. So I had to call the agency tree time. At the end, we had only one evening and one morning warm on five. So bring a good sleeping bag and a good coat and you will be fine. When asked Sykes holidays cottage a compensation, they replayed that was not their business because the contract was between me and the owner. Pity that I don’t know who he is, I don’t have is number and I paid Sykes holidays cottage the fuul amount. So they just took money and left me in a mess. Good luck

“Living space is not the best as the seating area is cramped and not easily accessible for an elderly person and very uncomfortable to relax in, forcing everyone to relax in separate rooms , which is not the point of a family holiday.”

The cleaning was of a very poor standard, smeary mirrors, induction hob, window ledges filthy, cooker hood grimey. I had to remove the filter out of the shower that was disgusting , full of hair blocking the water flow. The bathroom sensors are dangerous if you are having a shower, plunging you into darkness when trying to shower and not being able to see how to get out which is a health and safety risk.

“Bed linen was flat and bobbly, beds did not wave waterproof mattress protectors, x2 mattress stained that appeared to have blood?”

Master bedroom bathroom was not clean (dirty on entry to shower/ around plug in sink) horrible smell this seemed to spill over to the bedroom, Iron board ripped. Parking is tricky to navigate with huge concrete lump in the way and old steps from entry to drive, these need removing asap dangerous. Advised as dog friendly, but had to cross road to let the dog out to the toilet. No area for dog to go out or toilet on site. I have images if required

“Beautiful cottage .”

. we only encountered 2 problems … the bed in the double room .. we had to switch the divan base around as the top part by the headboard was broke .. we had to replace batteries in 1 lock, and one of the key code locks was broken ( which we fixed) so it now works .. but other than that the cottage was lovely..

“Beautiful clean accommodation with lovely warm welcoming gifts.”

However, I think the apartment really misses a comfortable seating area. The table in the entrance is not ideal to sit at for too long even if you don't have a back problem. Therefore, this means sitting on the beds which again are in need of new mattresses in particular the bedroom where the kitchen seating is located. You can feel every spring and after the uncomfortable seating area in kitchen we ended up with bad backs ☹️

“The middle bedroom stank , the carpet had got soaked, from a flood I would guess.”

Got better as it dried out by the end of the holiday. Could do with a better mattress in the 1st bedroom, could feel the springs not comfortable for my disabled brother. Everything else was top notch and was value for money paid.

Teylu, a fantastic ground-floor apartment, is located in the centre of Camborne, Cornwall.

The apartment is attractively furnished and excellent for those who appreciate being near a town but just a short drive from beaches and public transportation; ideal for families that want to explore the region!

An off-road parking space with a shared electric charging point welcomes you, before stepping inside the abode. The kitchen is well-equipped, with two sizeable fridge/freezers and laundry amenities, making it ideal for a self-catering stay!

The dining area is close by and not only makes for a great spot to tuck into tasty meals, but it is opposite a Smart TV!
