The property

Spacious, serene and only minutes from the sea, this immaculate barn conversion is perfect for couples or families.

Occupying a green and rural location, the family friendly beaches at Porthtowan and Portreath are within an easy 10 minutes' drive.

Lifeguarded in the summer months, these sandy spots are great for swimming, surfing and sandcastle fun.

If you fancy a change of scene then the nearby coastal village of St Agnes is worthy of a visit too, with cafes, galleries, pubs and a lovely little beach. Centrally situated Mayfield View is near to the coast to coast cycle trail which runs between Devoran on the south coast and Portreath on the north, along purpose built paths and quiet country lanes.

Bike hire is available nearby at Bissoe or Portreath or you can bring your own which can be stored onsite.

Walkers can make the most of a myriad of footpaths in the area so take your four legged friend out to explore.

There is a local pub just up the road but the best eateries can be found in St Agnes, Truro and Falmouth, all of which are within 30 minutes' drive.

The capital of Cornwall, Truro is a delightful small city with a cinema, theatre and museum to entertain on rainy days as well as a good array of shops. Approached down a private driveway, the barn sits in a tranquil spot behind the owner's home.

The vaulted ceiling, wood burner and contemporary kitchen create a wow factor space in which to relax, cook, eat and socialise.

Flanking the living space are two en-suite bedrooms which offer privacy for two couples or the perfect space for a family of four.

Pretty fabrics, crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels complete the picture.

There is a large private sun terrace with a built in barbecue and a small shared garden area where you can pick herbs and raspberries from the owners' crop.

Up to two pets are welcome but please ensure that they don't upset the owner's cats and chickens who have free rein during the day.

Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwall’s beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. Fringed by impressive granite cliffs, the beach is a popular surfing venue and is lifeguarded during the summer, making it ideal for families. Porthtowan is part of the St Agnes designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are some wonderful walks to be found, offering vivid scenery along the South West Coast Path, whether you choose to head east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The towns of St Ives and Penzance, with their art galleries, restaurants and quaint harbours, are half an hour’s drive away, whilst Flambards Theme Park, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station are just a few of the other diverse attractions scattered around this picturesque region. A great base for a varied family break.
