“Been here many times since 2013, it’s a lovely property but indeed of some attendance now, cooking pots are useless, knifes are blunt (these have never changed since 2013) the internet is awful, which could be helped with Wi-fi boosters and power adaptors for the TV.”

But I must admit the house in general is beautiful and homely hence why we keep coming back

The property

Sea View is one of two luxurious apartments with enticing sea views located within a 5 minute drive of the fabulous Cornish Riviera coastline.

This ground floor apartment for couples and small families is arranged over two levels of a beautifully restored Victorian House.

Designed for style-conscious guests, the spacious proportions and elegant interiors are a triumph.

You will feel cosseted here.

Behind the roadside exterior, the mood is sophisticated with solid oak floors, art memorabilia and good design in fittings and furniture.

French doors lead from the sitting room to a balcony with far-reaching views across roof tops to the broad sweep of sea at St Austell Bay, which is a string of golden beaches, stunning coast path and charming fishing villages.

Cook in the smart and well equipped kitchen, eat together at a large wooden table or on the balcony on warm days.

Enjoy a long stress-busting soak in bathroom with its deep claw-foot bath or an invigorating rain shower in the wet room.

There are two superb bedrooms with comfortable mattresses topped with crisp cotton sheets.

Outside is a private, sun-filled lawned garden which children will love to explore while parents keep a watchful eye from the relaxing seating area.

St Austell is a convenient base and you will not be short of things to do.

The sandy beach and coastal golf course at Porthpean and the historic port of Charlestown, renowned for its tall ships and for the filming of the BBC's Poldark series, are a 5 minute drive.

The world famous Eden Project with its rain forest biomes is a 10 minute drive and the charming fishing village of Mevagissey, Pentewen Beach and famous Lost Gardens of Heligan are a 15 minute drive.

A little farther afield is the maritime town of Fowey with independent shops and harbour front restaurants and pubs.

For wet weather family fun, head to St Austell’s bowling alley, big screen cinema or Kidzworld indoor play centre.

There is off-road parking for one car and you will find cake, flowers and wine on arrival as well as guides, menus and maps to help you plan an unforgettable break.
