The property

Milltown Cottage is a very special place to stay.

A romantic hideaway in the pretty village of St Neot which is a perfect launch pad for Cornwall's south coast, its magical moorlands and the widely known village hall, bar and snooker room is within a 5 minute walk.

Head from the village centre, along a short farm track (unsuitable for low slung cars) beside a stream and across a tree lined meadow to discover this beautiful detached cottage with sweeping gardens.

Peaceful and private but not isolated with a spattering of outlying neighbours, this is a place for some glorious R&R.

Step inside and first impressions are country chic with lashings of modern comforts.

The two open fires, books, art, squashy vintage leather sofas, luxurious throws, colourful cushions and rug topped wooden flooring begin to set the scene for elegant simplicity. The rustic kitchen dining room with modern appliances and a long farmhouse dining table is the hub of the house.

In summer, spill out from the conservatory onto the decked balcony beneath sun-dappled trees for alfresco meals or laze on sun loungers whilst the little ones let off steam in the garden.

Upstairs the bedrooms are indulgent with wooden furniture and sumptuous beds dressed in rich colours and fabrics.

Two bedrooms have garden and leafy valley views and give access to a decked balcony for morning coffee and sunsets (children must be supervised).

Designed with families in mind, one bedroom is furnished with a zip and link bed and another is presented as a nursery bedroom with cutesy objects for babies and toddlers.

There is a shower room and a separate bathroom with a deep tub for stress-busting soaks.

This is superb hiking and biking territory.

Pack a picnic hamper with delicious Cornish produce and head out onto the scenic, often overlooked and under-rated, Bodmin Moor or Siblyback Lake which offers water sports facilities including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing.

The exclusive waterfront town of Fowey is 20 minutes by car as is the quintessential fishing village of Polperro.

Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel and Boscastle on Cornwall's north coast are 30-40 minutes by car and present great day trip ideas for a memorable holiday experience.
