Carol “A fabulous, clean and well presented cottage that is ideally situated within 30 minutes from Truro, Falmouth and the coast.”
We had a wonderful relaxing mini break at Bailey’s Cottage and would definitely revisit next year.

Diane “Cottage was in a great location to visit Cornwall’s beautiful sites, however with total peace and quiet away from the crowds.”
Fantastic hosts, well thought out accommodation which was very clean and great for my little dog. Will most definitely items return as the peace and tranquility of this setting/cottage was beyond expectations.
- Diane, September 2021Michael “The location was just what we needed and the owners were brilliant, so helpful.”
We would recommend Bailey cottage to anyone looking for a quiet retreat
- Michael, May 2021Sarah “The location was perfect - it feels wonderfully remote but in fact is within reach of everywhere on both coasts and elsewhere.”
The approach is up an unsurfaced farm track, perfectly driveable, and Bailey Cottage was just the right size and layout for a couple + a single + a dog; beautifully decorated and fitted out but not fussy. The owners were welcoming and friendly including to the dog, enormously helpful and relaxed, and totally on top of the Covid rules requirements. 10 mins walk from the Cottage is the reservoir, reached across a field and an old quarry bursting with wildflowers and wild life (we heard a willow warbler there on our first evening). The reservoir is an excellent place for walks and has a water-sports activity centre (with cafe) at the far end. Thanks to Penny, Ian, Brook and Foxy for everything.
- Sarah, April 2021Michael “This was the ideal quiet get away.”
The owners were brilliant, friendly and really helpful!
- Michael, April 2021Roxanne “Fantastic break, hosts very welcoming”
- Roxanne, April 2021Steve “Bailey Cottage is new , well situated (for touring Cornwall) and well equipped .”
The kitchen and bathroom are nice , the bed comfortable and it was very clean . However , it is let down by 3 things in my opinion . The cart-track approach is very rough and could damage the underside of a normal car like ours (not a jeep-type or 4x4), the Wifi is virtually non-existent and the lounge furniture (chair and sofa) we found uncomfortable . It could also do with an iron and ironing board , but Penny (joint owner) was very helpful and let us borrow hers . Overall we enjoyed our stay very much .
- Steve, September 2020Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Bailey Cottage. We are really pleased you found the property clean and comfortable. The drive down to the property leads from a main road onto a typical Cornish single gravel track, the owners of this property regularly drive their classic car along it without issue. The wifi signal is usually very good, as you will see from our feedback we have had no previous complaints from guests. We have spoken to the owner who has now provided an iron and ironing board. Despite the points raised we are glad you enjoyed your visit to The Westcountry. Property Owner

About the location
STITHIANS
Falmouth 7.8 miles; Truro 9.5 miles
This Cornish village and civil parish lies within the north-westerly fringes of Falmouth near the towns of Redruth and Helston as well as the city of Truro, a wonderful location for a holiday. The 300-acre Stithians Reservoir, a hot spot for birdwatching and watersports or scenic walks with the family, bounds the village on the west. Stithians also plays host to a shop, pub and parish church, yet is best-known for its agricultural show, one of the largest of its kind in the UK. Attractions and things to do nearby include Pendennis and St. Mawes Castle on the south coast, both constructed in the 16th century, the tranquil Trelissick Garden near the city of Truro offering wonderful views over the River Fal, and the beautiful Tregothnan Estate home to 40 hectares of land. You are also within easy reach of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project as well as the delightful fishing harbours of Fowey and Polperro along the Heritage Coast. A fabulous choice for a holiday in Cornwall.
