“Although it was described as an apartment, we feel we should have been made aware there could be noise from the apartment above.”

During our stay we found this disturbing and unpleasant. The photos and the listing showed a chair and a sofa in the lounge area. There was no chair, just the sofa which was rather uncomfortable. There was 2 of us, had there been 4 people it would have been very cramped. It’s only suitable for a family with 2 young children or a couple. It was reasonably clean and well appointed (a few more mugs may be helpful). We went for a week over the Easter holiday and for the price we paid we don’t ...

We went for a week over the Easter holiday and for the price we paid we don’t feel it represented good value for the money. Disappointed, didn’t meet our expectations and hopes.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we feel it is important to clarify a few points. The property is equipped with chairs in the lounge as well as multiple seating options both indoors and outdoors. There are also four mugs and a sufficient number of glasses, which we believe should be adequate for two guests. While we understand that furniture preferences can vary, we did note that your dogs were allowed on the sofa during your stay. As outlined in our house rules, pets are not permitted on the furniture. This policy is in place to ensure fairness for all guests and to maintain cleanliness standards; as a result, additional cleaning was required. Regarding noise, the upstairs area is typically very quiet, and we have not received similar feedback from previous guests. If a completely noise-free environment is essential, this property may not be the most suitable choice. Salty Sea Dog has been a popular choice for families, particularly groups of four, and we are fortunate to welcome many returning guests each year. We often receive positive feedback, especially from younger visitors who enjoy the cozy bunk beds and the overall atmosphere. We do appreciate all feedback, as it helps us maintain and improve our standards. However, we respectfully disagree with the points raised and believe that accuracy in reviews is important for both guests and hosts. Thank you again for your stay, and we wish you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards Property Owner

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
