    “This apartment is wonderful.”

Perfectly positioned, comfortable and very accurately described. As a regular traveller and user of rental accommodation I always read past reviews. It made me feel quite astonished the previous visitor left such poor remarks, which he is entitled to do, but still is quite unrealistic compared to the actual booking. Sometimes visitors like that feel they have that power with no recourse, shame. ...

Anyway, in response to a few of his points.. The car parking space was covered in cat excrement and was too small and too tight to get a family car in, we had to park on the roadside the whole time of the holiday. - Who on earth is looking for cat excrement… we didn’t notice. The space IS tight, but a 6 point turn is all that’s needed, good for a smaller car agreed. Access to the property is very difficult via steep stairs.- No it isn’t.. it’s one flight of normal stairs. Shared entrance lobby was dirty and smelt damp, the stair carpets were dirty and threadbare. - This area was not dirty nor damp.. it’s a communal stairway, made in wood and glass with carpet. It’s had some use and is possibly a place where surfboards are left.. this is Newquay ! The lock to the apartment was very temperamental and took a long time for the key to engage the tumblers. On several occasions we thought that we would be unable to securely lock the door. - No issues at all with the door, nothing but a simple turn.. however I can see a standard door lock can be confusing for some people …! Inside the property was no better, with the hall carpet stained and worn out. - It’s a hall carpet, and seemed fine and not worn out.. could use a steam clean but hardly noticeable. There was mould and stained grout in both of the showers, - Saw none of this. the apartment smelt old, was very draughty and very difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature due to the thermostat being in the hall no where near a heat source. - It’s an old Devon house, beautifully positioned and nicely converted.. we had zero issues with the heating and early March was 8 degrees outside and lovely inside. The windows didn’t close properly and allowed a constant draught and noise in. - No issues here and we opened them to enjoy and photograph the incredible views The washer drier - which wasn’t even in the listing - was standing uneven and required both of us to hold it in place while the spin cycle was on. - Hilarious.. a complaint because the washer wasn’t in the listing. The mattress in the main bedroom was lumpy and uncomfortable and requires replacing. - Loved the bed.. It’s not a luxury hotel. It’s a fabulous apartment with space to dine on the balcony, relax in front of the tv, cook in the well equipped (if a little bit used) kitchen, and enjoy prime position in a quiet but central spot.
