“Second time staying here, perfect location the only thing that needs to change is TV needs upgrading to HD as couldn’t watch the local news for the weather.”

    - Sharon, July 2023

Thank you for your feedback and we are recently aware of the withdrawal of SD signal by BBC and a different set top box will be installed asap to accept HD signals in the future. Property Owner

The property

In the small hamlet of Trewarmett, and close to the rugged North Cornish coast, is this welcoming and homely semi-detached cottage.

Standing just over a mile from the surf and sand at Trebarwith Strand beach and less than two miles from historic village of Tintagel famed for the it’s myths and legends of King Arthur, the house offers comfortable accommodation spread over four floors and has impressive valley views.

Slate steps lead from the off road parking to the front door and beyond this there is an efficient kitchen and comfy dining room with TV and electric fire.

Open tread stairs lead to the lower ground floor where there is a sitting room with fireplace and French windows to the sun deck (with bench) at the rear.

Also on this level a shower room, perfect for rinsing sand and salt after a fun filled day at the beach before venturing upstairs.

Stairs from the ground floor lead up to three bedrooms; on the first floor a double with valley views and a twin plus a family bathroom plus separate WC.

Further steep stairs lead to the second floor and a twin room under the eaves with the same valley views and sea glimpses.

Outside the garden is terraced and on the lower level there’s a table and chairs ideal for soaking up the sun whilst dining alfresco.

Curlews is a cheerful and comfortable house in a wonderful location with the best or Cornwall’s stunning Northern coastline to explore, making it a brilliant base for families and couples alike, throughout the seasons.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a 40-minute drive.
