  • “Cottage was spacious and comfortable.”

Kitchen was well equipped, albeit with some replacement pans required. Main bedroom was very warm and noisy due to the large tank in the cupboard: I wouldn’t have liked to have tried to sleep in it in hot weather. Open window didn’t seem to make much difference. ...

Kitchen was well equipped, albeit with some replacement pans required. Main bedroom was very warm and noisy due to the large tank in the cupboard: I wouldn’t have liked to have tried to sleep in it in hot weather. Open window didn’t seem to make much difference. Showers were fine, plenty of hot water. Hot tub was a bonus, shame it is going. There was no garden loungers or parasol, which would have been nice to relax on after hot tub, which gets the afternoon sun. Lovely part of Cornwall. St Just has a good butchers and fish & chip shop and there’s a nice pub just round the corner. Good walking to cliffs direct from the cottage. Lots of places within a short drive. All in all enjoyed our stay there.

The property

Truthwall Farm is an older farmhouse building brought to life through a charming renovation to offer homely and attractive holiday accommodation for a group or family of six.

Showcasing a wonderful mix of classic and newer features, you and your loved ones will settle in quickly to this Cornish retreat.

Enter the farmhouse through the utility room, stepping over reclaimed slate stone slabs, leading to a handy ground-floor shower room, and the kitchen/diner where a classic range cooker sits at home amidst cream units and natural wood furnishings, with quirky additions like a pew bench in the corner.

Gather around the dining table offering a seat for everyone, you can plan the coming days or enjoy discussing the events already enjoyed over delicious food, whether it’s a hearty breakfast or a quick dinner.

When you are wanting to relax you can choose from several spots to settle in; the first sitting room holds a woodburning stove within an original stone fireplace, a characterful addition to a homely room, spread out on the sofa as the fire roars and put a favourite film on the Smart TV.

Play with the little ones in the second sitting room with the selection of books and games, or snuggle on the sofa before the TV.

For the ultimate relaxing evening, spend time in the hot tub and soak in the warm bubbles, afterwards enjoying a refreshing drink on the decking.

Head upstairs when you are in need of rest and find three bedrooms offering lovely décor, quality furnishings for storage and thoughtfully picked bed linen and upholstery.

Find a king-size bedroom which benefits from a walk-in wardrobe, a light and bright double room and a bunk room which would be perfect for any children.

Enjoy a relaxing soak in the bath tub in the gleaming family bathroom, stealing a moment or two for just you, or if time’s not on your side then simply get ready in the morning with a quick hot shower.

Begin by exploring Cape Cornwall, a spectacular hump-backed cape which offers gorgeous coastal views over the Western Approaches, or visit the nearby Cliff Castle of Kenidjack before hopping back onto the South West Coast Path and wandering around the town centre of St Just.

Discover the characterful streets and pick up any necessities you need, treat yourself to a pub lunch and browse the independent shops.

Take a trip to Land's End, a must-visit for any tourist, head further south to the beautiful Porthcurno Beach for a fantastic beach day in this serene spot.

Within reach of the bustling towns of Penzance and St Ives too, Truthwall Farm is a real gem of a property, offering a perfect location from which to explore south-east Cornwall.

About the location

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.

Note: The Hot Tub will be removed from Truthwall Farm at the end of 2021. The Hot Tub wont be in place for any bookings commencing after this date.
